What was slated as a peaceful pot protest at Queen’s Park Saturday afternoon soon became a clash with police. Authorities came in and shut down the rally when Toronto organizers failed to produce the necessary permits and insurance. That led to a scuffle between participants and officers, and at least two people were detained for breach of peace. |

This power has been part of Canada's justice system since the original Criminal Code of 1892. Today, the Minister's power to review convictions is set out in sections 696.1-696.6 in Part XXI.1 of the Criminal Code.

Marc wants everyone to know that the prison has ignored his requests for humane treatment. Marc saw the medical staff and requested dental strips, his medication, and (once again) appropriate food. They ignored his requests.He hasn't received any mail yet... but we'll see if tomorrow's the same. He asks that people continue to call the jail on a regular basis, always curteously of course, and ask that they tend to his basic human needs.
