FIRST FEDERAL MEDICAL MARIJUANA CONVICTION "This trial is an emblem of injustice," said Steph Sherer, executive director of Americans for Safe Access, a national network of medical marijuana patients and providers, "California doesn't want Bryan Epis to spend his next ten years behind bars -- we decided that six years ago." WOULD SOFTER POT LAW STIR WRATH OF U.S.? "I thought, 'My God, what is this man talking about?'" said Vancouver MP Libby Davies, a New Democrat. "We can't be subservient to the ridiculous rhetoric coming out of the United States." FLEEING NORTH Alex Stojicevic, the Vancouver lawyer representing Hayes, Kubby and several other American refugee claimants, says "Since Mr. Ashcroft became attorney-general and Mr. Bush the president, the view is that things are going to get worse," says Stojicevic. That's what's fueling this." DRUG WAR EXPLOSIONS "On the one hand there is a population that has gone on record numerous times supporting decriminalization of pot and legal use of medical marijuana. On the other hand there is a rabid federal drug apparatus that clashes with local law enforcement and ignores public opinion expressed in statewide votes. Instead we are getting aggressive raids and punitive prosecutions. Between the clashing of these two world views, there is no middle ground. | Another wonderful show! I can attest that Richard is not boring. My brother and I had the pleasure of hanging out with him for 3 days at the NORML conference in San Francisco. Richard is fun, witty and brilliant. Peace. |

Another great show, guys. One minor correction... you said Bush was elected: he was not elected he was appointed by the supremely fascist court. Also, fyi to the viewers, CSPAN has been covering the Liberatarian convention. Great Stuff. (cont.)

My favorite quote from CSPAN yesterday. "Republicans read Madison and Jefferson: Libertarians UNDERSTAND Madison and Jefferson". "Repubs give lip service about individual liberty, Libertarians fight for individual liberty".

Great job Kubbys, I wish you continued success! And Richard is excellent; don't let him get away. Also I agree that Dubya wasn't elected by the people, he was elected by the Rectoral College after the people were reamed by the Supreme Crock. Peace..

I enjoy the show butplease tell steve that starting his commentary with the word ''wow'' might give some people the impression that he is stoned. Y'know I studied the hip lingo in school and ''wow'' is a dead giveaway.
