| yes, some of the DEA comments really reveal their mentality, e.g., "The people of California have spoken", referring to the jury decision in Ed's trial. No, the people spoke when they voted for Prop 215. or "We are Americans first, Californians second " |

| I don't even know what point Dick Meyer was trying to make with that comment but if we accept it at face value, yes, we need to defend our American civil rights. Even Bush is starting to see just how clueless these guys really are. |

| Also .it still really strikes me that Ed and Oakland were, more than anyone else in the Bay Area, trying to comply with the Supreme Court ruling that you must grow your own (they were providing CUTTINGS instead of BUDS), yet they were singled out.?? |

| perhaps that is WHY Ed was singled out. The prosecutors worst fear is that their mighty Supreme Court is not prepared to tell sick people they can't grow their own medicine, even as they mandate that people cannot BUY the same medicine. just a theory :-} |
