Title: Marc Emery Interview From Prison
Description: Chris Bennett talks to Marc Emery from the Saskatoon Prison where he is serving 3 months for passing a joint. In an outrageous verdict that condemns Marc for "political" activism, Judge D. Albert Lavoie abused his authority and made an "example" of Marc's case. This case symbolizes the travesty of current Canadian Marijuana Policy. Marc asks everybody to email and write the Justice Minister Irwin Cotler now and demand liberty for Canada's cannabis culture. The Criminal Code gives the Minister of Justice the power to review a conviction to determine whether there may have been a miscarriage of justice. This power has been part of Canada's justice system since the original Criminal Code of 1892. Today, the Minister's power to review convictions is set out in sections 696.1-696.6 in Part XXI.1 of the Criminal Code.
