Feds Say Pot Houses Part of Organized Crime Syndicate
30 Sep 2006 Drug Enforcement Administration Assistant Special Agent in Charge Gordon Taylor said Friday afternoon that a task force involving the DEA, the IRS and the U.S. Attorney's Office has been formed to investigate 20 pot homes in Stockton and 21 pot homes in Sacramento County. "This is he most sophisticated organized crime syndicate that we have ever investigated in this area in terms of drug trafficking," said Taylor.

DEA, Police Raid California Healthcare Collective 27 Sep 2006 MODESTO, Calif. -- The Drug Enforcement Administration has broken up what it calls the largest medical marijuana dispensary in Northern California.Modesto police and federal agents said the California Healthcare Collective sold marijuana to people who did not have valid doctor's recommendations.
Boulder Councilman Found With Marijuana
27 Sep 2006 A Boulder city councilman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, the city announced Tuesday.Richard Polk, 57, was stopped Monday night near the Pearl Street Mall. Polk was driving a green Honda Element at the time.
Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and found a wooden pipe, and 2.1 grams of suspected marijuana, the city said in a statement.

20 Sep 2006 The Clark County Commission is now facing legal action after voting Tuesday to oppose a November ballot question involving the decriminalization of marijuana.The Committee to Regulate and Control Marijuana announced the legal action at the Clark County Commission meeting. The organization says the county commissioners are violating state law just by talking about that ballot question, let alone voting on it.
