Come on guys, lets start sending those letters! This is serious shit! I wrote a bunch of bueracratic hogwash that I intend to send of to those e-mail address but just thought I would share my letter so some of you guys can maybe write something similar of your own and start shooting them off! We need to be serious about getting Marc in that debate!!
RE: The non-medical Use of Cannabis in Canada
I have learned that your organization is having a discussion on the topic of Cannabis Law within Canada.. I, as the owner of a private construction company within the national capital region wish to express my opinion. It is my belief you have not scheduled a speaker with viewpoints pertaining to the legalization of Cannabis or any form of positive information towards this recreational drug. Using my internal process I would deem the list of guests bias in regards to the full debate on Marijuana legislation.
If I were to create a truly fair debate I would feel three different parties would be necessary;
a) parties with viewpoints and opinions illustrating the negative effects of Cannabis in Canada.
b) parties with viewpoints and opinions neutral and purely factual pertaining to Marijuana as a drug. For example, doctors, neurologists and any other medical professionals.
c) parties with viewpoints and opinions illustrating the positive or otherwise non-harmful effects of Cannabis on society in Canada.
I am aware you have scheduled adequate representation in regards to parties (a) and I believe your organization would have better judgment than I in selecting a representative for party (b). Although, if you wish to choose a representative for the party (c), it maybe difficult to choose someone with the qualified knowledge and experience. Therefor I wish to make a suggestion to your organization.
I, as a contributing and outgoing member of society, and tax-paying member of the private sector choose Marc Emery as a representative.
I believe that he has more than adequate experience in communicating with vast numbers of the Marijuana-consuming population. He is knowledgeable in regards to the effects of the drug, it’s effect on society and its effect on the human health and psyche. I thank you for regarding my opinion as a contributing member to Canadian society. I hope that you may understand my viewpoint and take it into consideration when finalizing the list of speakers in your upcoming debate regarding the non-medical use of Marijuana.
