Authorities say that some members of the hard-working, modest Mennonite community have traded in their Bibles for bullets and joined the Mexican drug wars.
"I draw a comparison to the Mafia and the Catholic Church," states Loni Wright, director of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. Pot-TV More shows from Newshawks

Re: Newshawks: 'The Mennonite Marijuana Mob'
gir,
Mon Feb 28 10:27:15 2005 I blame the media.
I have seen indications of this. I used to work in the oil and gas industry and once worked around a seismic crew of mostly Mennonite young men. I made friends with some of them and I noticed in no time that they openly smoked a lot of marijuana. I thought that was a little odd considering what I had been told about Mennonites so I asked one friend. He explained to me that it was happening to a lot of the Mennonite youths, they were rebelling against the teachings. He also told me that the area he was from, and most of the crew, came from a pretty poor colony. discuss this show in the CC forums >
