well hello ppl ...
i was supposed to do a grow room in my basement ... but i changed my mind ...
ill set sumthing up in a big closet upstairs ...
BUT !!! ill be building a hydro system ...
i have never really liked the chemical taste of hydro ...
i was thinking today ...
if i would finish my plants in soil for the last 1-2 weeks ... would it give the plants organic flavor ?

No, just give them a plain water for the last two weeks of flowering. This will help flush all stored nutrients within the plant. Overall flavor is not determined by this fact alone...you must properly dry and cure your buds for them to achieve maximum results. Curing can make or break your harvest so don't slack now! i really like organic weed ... for the taste ...
is flushin enough to give it that wonderfull earthy aroma
... the weed will be ONLY for my consumption ... im not gonna sell ... so the taste is of utmost importance ...
putting the plants in soil for the last week sees like a good idea ... im sure it will give the plant aroma ...
or is the flushin enough ... (im basically askin the same question twice!)
ill be makin plans of my homemade hydro ... ill be scanning the and posting them when i can ...

Aroma is not associated with the style it is grown in, it's a mix of strain and curing process. If a plant grown in dirt is fertilized up till the day it is harvested, it too stands a chance of having a high nutrient/chlorophyll level that will most likely not break down fast eneough as the plant dries. Therefore a harsh, possible chemical flavor smoke. But if you give a plant only water for the last two weeks you begin to starve the plant and it begins feeding off it's fan leaves, thats why they turn yellow towards the end. Once harvested and placed in a dark area, chlorophyll becomes inactive and whatever is left in the plant is broken down. You'll find that the slowest cure is the best cure. I have been "Curing" with this method for quite awhile and I must tell you that it gets better with age. Each harvest you will get better and better Good Luck...K_K

Why take a chance on stressing / shocking your plants, if you want great taste try Budswell liquid Bat Guano (1-10-1) for hydro & soil use,mix with your reg bloom ferts and by its' self for several weeks up untill the last 2 weeks when you flush with plain PH adjusted water.I myself have yet to try it (on my 1st hydro grow), but it really improves the overall flavor from my experience in soil grows.available at most hydroponics shops. good luck,hope this helps.... don't you love how your post looks when you edit? Incandescent lights will stretch your plamts untill they fall over and die,can't keep em close enough with out burning them.same goes for those flood style grow lamps.if you can't aford an HID set up try flourescent lights,mix of cool & warm whites is best(more lumens than grow bulbs).you could also use one of those circlelights,it is a standard incandescent base that powers a circular flour.available in 75,90,& 150w at Menards for $9.95(or other hardware stores)I got one and it puts out 150w of light and only uses 33w of juice.....READ UP ON GROWING w/ online grow guides or this forum....VERY VERY HELPFULL...hope this helps grow that monster plant...Re:strains...I've read that blueberry is a bit tricky,but NL#5 is perfect for the first time grow-soil & hydro...thats the one I just started.....PEACE...

it aint a question of affording them ... just a question of ordering them in the next week or so :)
for the moster .. ill try keeping it in sunlight as much as i can ...
the monster wont be in my hydro setup ... its gonna be a side dish ... just for the looks of the most beautiful plant i know of ... :)
as long as it grows big .. im happy ... i dont care about harvesting it ...

I think it is something with your browser settings or something that causes all the jargon with the post, because I edit mine all the time and never experience this problem.
