Pruning [Post#: 104550 ]

Hey all,

Can I hear some different ways of pruning? I mean like to prune or not to prune and when?

I just want to compare notes.

prune to maximize bud sites. you clip a shoot and two or more new shoots pop up. simply put ---> you do the math :)

This doesn't always improve yields though. You could end up with the same yield as you would have had you not pruned, you'll just be harvesting a lot more smaller buds. What I mean when I say this is depending on how you grow (soil or hydro) the more you prune, the smaller the each budsite gets. Over pruning adds stress to the plant as well, not to mention adds lots more time to your veg cycle. Hope this helps...K_K

I suggest you prune once when the plant is young, maybe 3rd or 4th node. This will produce two main colas to grow from the top, giving you a two headed monster.
