New to Hydro, Looking for advice.

Good Morning all! I am new to hydro growing and have a simple question about my set up. I am germinating my seeds right now. Once they crack they are going into 1" rockwool cubes. After they establish their roots, I am considering putting them in a small bubbler made of a rubbermaid container, by doing this I am hoping to determine sex before going into my flowering room. Has anyone else used this intermediary step of sexing. I don't want to waste any time or money on the boys and I am thinking this is a decent way to go about it. Thanks in advance.

put em on 12/12 whenever you want to sex, weed out the males, put em back on 24/7 until your ready to finally flower.
ive only done this once (worked fine) and i hear people talking about doing it all the time so its gotta be the thing.

Better yet, put em in the bubbler and let em start vegging. When they get a little bigger take a few cuttings from each and clone them. Once roots have established on the clones you could force flower them. Remember to make notes as to which clone came from what plant. If you find a male, discard it and the plant it came from. This will save you a few weeks in down time trying to reveal the plants sex at an early age, not to mention it is the least stressful method. Hope this helps...K_K

hey bro I don't want to talk shit but rockwool isn't really what its cracked up to be especial;ly for newbies. You may like it though but, if you fuck up try a 75%perilite 25%vermic medium fortified with 1 cup dolomite lime to a gallon. Its super forgiving, very airy yet suuportive and an awesome conductor for root growth. you will need to enclose your pump in a filter bag but, once you figure out how to use it without a mess. you'll fucking rock n roll plus you can get supplies from kmart....it'll work super in any hydro situation from passive to aeroponic.

I sex every time. I sex at 5" then back to 24 hr light.
