Basic Bubbler/Hydro Questions

hey guys -
went out today and bought 2 rubbermaid containers, 2 air pumps, air stones, and tubing.. I'm going to order a 400w HPS light, and plan on growing 6-8 plants in the 2 rubbermaids.
I ordered seeds last night, but I have some things I haven't quite cleared up yet. I know I need to germinate the seeds, and wait for them to sprout. After they sprout, do I put them right into the bubbler system inside rockwool?Or should I put them in pots and grow under florescent bulbs? If so, how long should they be exposed to light (24hrs?), what do I grow the seads in, and how big of pots should I get? How long do I keep it in this 'phase' before putting it into the bubbler system? And do I have to worry about light/dark periods in the 'pre-bubbler' phase?
Sorry for all the questions, just want to do this right =]

Astralboy,
I wouldn't put the sprouts right in the bubbler since they won't have long enough roots to reach the water and if you have the water all the way up to the rockwool, the cube will just stay to wet and rot your seedling. Instead, I germ them in rockwool cubes. I keep the cubes in a container and just keep them a bit moist. Once the roots poke out the bottom of the cube, I let them get about an inch long and then I move it to the bubbler. That way you can have the water level up to the roots but the rockwool won't get soaked. Be sure to use grorocks or some other medium to support the rockwool. Otherwise, any splash from the airstone bubbles as they break the surface will keep the rockwool soaked. Until the roots are well established, keep an eye out on the rockwool cube. It shouldn't be wet, but a bit moist to make sure that the seedling doesn't dry out totally if it's roots aren't pulling enough water yet.
As for light, some people believe in 18/6 and some say 24hr. I just use 24hr light the whole time until they're ready to flower.

thanks very much for the info... when the seeds are in the rockwool, is that when I'd keep them under the florescents? 24 hours a day I'd assume?
should the container they are in have some sort of lid on top of it as well?
