hydro vs soil new [Post#: 121595 ]

I'm a little confused on the issue of hydro vs. soil grown marijuana. I've heard that hydro is so much more potent, but is that just the strain or does growing weed hydroponically actually add a lot of thc to it and why? Just curious.. thanks.

Hey Grate..I've grown in both soil and hydro..Although if done properly both give great results when it comes to potency.I'd have to say from my experience the hydro grown has always had more of a punch to it..Hydro done properly can produce some kickass bud. This will only enhance the strain grown. It won't turn shit weed into primo..IMHO..PEACE..

Ideallly ya outta be able to produce the same quality nug from the same genes either way. Manually is a lot more work...noticed hydro always tastes better if flushed right. cuz its a real bitch to get dirt clean....ie tastes like potting soil or somethin....outside is another story

I think if you want to maximize efficiency in terms of yield and growth time, that a hydroponics system is the way to go.

If you are interested in the medicinal qualities of this herb or prefer something quite small and simple, then growing a few plants in soil would also be a great way to g(r)o(w).

I have never experienced hydroponic gardening personally so I can only compare the two based on totally seperate grows...but don't worry, I will have some direct comparisons under similar conditions (least amount of variables possible)in the near future.

It really sounds like you are just a newbie, but don't worry because growing the sacred cannabis plant is actually quite easy and can lead to some very rewarding results.

You need to do a little research...how much bud are you looking to grow, what size of space, and how much are you planning to spend?

Hydronically grown plants will root faster then in soil and grow faster thus creating more buds faster! Plants grown in soil for a long period of time can grow quite large and very potent! In my experiences most people do not grow there plants long enough in the vegatative cycle, which means that you have your lights on anywhere from 16-24 hours a day. One of the main advantages of hydroponics systems is that cloned plants may be grown to a "mature" state, in a relatively short period of time.

Well peace and I'm sure you will learn a wealth of knowledge from this thread alone! Peace and essentially my opinion on the whole hydro/soil thing is, "its all good!"

Sorry, just wanted to add...Paled, I do not agree at all with your statement. In my experiences the best tasting and smoothest tokes are from organically grown marijuana in soil, which had been flushed for 20 days. I have smoked a plethora of incredible hydro and I do believe it is an amazing way to grow in terms of bud potency and flavour, but I do often find certain bite associated with hydro - even from very good growers. I do not notice any difference in harshness in joints, but when I smoke about 2 grams through a bong I can totally notice. Of course there are so many variables and this is just my humble experience in the area's I have lived...so I think everybody should just grow whatever works best for them. Hell, I will being doing both! Peace!

potancy is in the genetics
but you can ruin any strain if you dont grow it properly.
if you do everything the correct way...then both hydro and soil are great.
your choice

yeh it's genetics, but you can add tons of potency to your weed just by the way you grow it.
