Germination pic for spaceman-spliff [Post#: 72998 / re: 72521 ]

Here is the system I put them into to get them ready for the bubbler system.
If you are going to use rockwool you will also need to soak the cubes in a bucket with the hydro nutrients you are going to use(if they are ph buffered) or in water that has been adjusted to a ph of about 6.0.

Good set up mist. I just recieved my new clones tonite and im sitting here trying to figure out how to transplant them. They didnt come in rockwool cubes this time, they came in vermiculite and a prop tray. I was thinking of cutting down a paper towel tube to put in the pot so i have a form for the heydite that i use. Then i was going to fill the space up with more vermic. and transplant into that. Do you think it will work? Other than being careful for a while with top watering(so i dont wash the vermic away) is there anything else i should be careful with? These are gonna be beauties, pure donkey dicks. They are around 6 inches already!!!!

That sounds like it should work just fine. Aside from not liking vermiculite for growing hydro( I prefer pearlite)I think it will hold until the roots get set into your medium and then you will probably have to pick the paper towel tube from around plant as it will breakdown. I haven't dealt with clones for many years, but at 6 inches the root structure should still be small enough to put it into a rockwool cube if you wanted to. I don't start my plants in rockwool cubes. I do it in dirt and then make a larger hole through the cube and place the plant in it with the roots sticking out the bottom just a little. I would imagine that you could do that with your clones. Good luck with those donkey dicks.

I've done three already and it looks like it will work well. I might give the rockwool idea a try. I guess if i cut a slit through the cube and squeeze the sides together it should open enough to not damage the roots. I know with my DWC system that it wont take long for the roots to set into the medium. Probably start the flowering in a week to ten days. I have the means to post pics now so i will keep you updated (they will be video captures for now i cant afford the digicam i want yet). Good luck and good growing.

Yes, please post a few pics of your setup. I am going to use the unit in the picture when I do my next grow. I am going to do 3 WhitewidowXRomberryXAfgani and 3 BurmeseXVisc and am going to take 3 clones of each from the females I get. I have Olivia's cloning solution and am ready to stop doing the seed thing. My father used to do all the clones with RootTone and they would do great. I hope this new stuff works as good.
Oh yea, I had to break the sides on a couple of the cubes to make it easier to put the plants in, and it worked fine. Have a good one.

I told you about my refrigerator set up last week mist. Well good fortune smiled on me this week and my brother gave me a computer cooling cabinet 3x3x7 feet high. It came equipped with its own fans and thermostat i just took out 3 of the shelves and i now have 54 inches of vertical growing space and i am soon going to change to a 250 watt MH setup since i dont have to worry about heat build up as much. My question to the forum is.....Will a MH do it all or not? I mean do i need a conversion bulb or will the MH do ok for flowering too?

thanks for the pic mist, i'll be trying that soon. i've tried to adjust my current grow, but i'm afraid that it might be too late for it. so when i get my next shipment of seeds, i'll do my best not to cock it up this time.

I would get a conversion buld. But then I am going to do my entire next grow under a 1000watt HPS with floros around the sides for extra light spectrum. I think that a 250 will do fine for that small an area. Hell, anything else would be overkill in 9 sq.ft. Some of the enhanced spectrum bulbs from sunargo might do the trick too.
