what about the roots?

This is my first hydro attempt. I have 4 clones going in a 6 cell system. In the other 2 pots I have 3 plants each from seed. I've been
flowering now for a week and I intened to kill off any males that appear. My question is since I have 2 pots with 3 unknown plants, will it
be bad if I kill the males (heh maybe they will all be females!) and let the roots sit in with the "live" ones? I plan on just cutting the stems at the
base... There really in no easy way to seperate the roots at this point.. But if its going to be a problem I'll just pull those 2 pots out. I don't want
to risk loosing all.

In dirt it wouldn't be a problem. In hydro, the decaying roots will invite pythium and other root borne diseases which will be transferred to your other plants by your nutrient solution. I wouldn't recommend taking chances...
