I am curious if anyone other than myself has used liquid ceramic insulation as opposed to standard methods of insulating for indoor growing. Here are some of the advantages: At 7/1000 " it provides R-19 which is equal to 6-8" of fibre insulation. It does not deteriorate, resistant to moisture, mildew, has 0 smoke spread and 0 flame spread so it also acts as a fire barrier. Now here's the real kicker, I had before and after thermal (infrared) tests done on the outside of the building to see how well it performed. The guy that did the tests was amazed how well it blocked the heat. Before the testing was done the building glowed like a candle where the growing area existed. In fact the steel perlings could be seen on the roof as they transferred heat through them. Now after the liquid ceramic insulation is applied this area no longer stands out on the infrared scan plus I am saving 40%-60% utility costs. An extra bonus in the summer months is that the coating works on both sides thus preventing heat build up from the sun. This is totally high tech and originates from the NASA Space Program.

It originates in the USA and it is relatively new in Canada. There is only one place in Canada that distributes this product. It's called Eagle Specialized Coatings in Surrey, BC and the contact there is sdlawson5@hotmail.com
