i need some help?!?!? [Post#: 94443 ]

I have two plants 1 , is hydroponically grown in a 6" glass mason jar the other is in soil same type jar I've had this hydo plant for 3-4 months now it's only 4-5" tall(full length) the other is about 1" shy of the hydro I just recently started to grow the soil plant , why is the soil plant growing faster than the hydro? Also my hydro's leaves are yellowish-green like light lime green or something. Is that good or bad? What am I doing wrong , what am I doing right, please help me!!!!(I tried to attach some pics of my plants to give you a good idea, but the files r to big for some reason)

Hey GoKu..There are just too many problems. The first problem being you're not going to get very far growing out of 6" mason jars.I'm actually surprised your one plant growing hydroponically has made it this far.How small it is speaks for itself.Hydro or organic in right sized containers at 3-4 months of age you should have at least a 2 ft plant. You say your plant in soil is growing quicker? In a very short time it'll stop growing too.Just not enough room.I'm not trying to rain on your parade but you won't get far in that kind of setup. You should browse the forums to get ideas and info.Grab yourself a good growbook.Decide whether you like to be a hydrohead or dirtfarmer. There are excellent forums on both here, with a wealth of info, and some excellent advice from experienced growers.Good Luck..PEACE..

I would suggest using a non-see-through container as roots do not respond kindly to light.

Cats like the chronic too!!

I agree with panama. If you cannot find a good grow book anywhere at least take advantage of the internet to find plans for a better set up and also an online grow guide. There are plenty of both of these available, all you have to do is let your search engine work for you! Good Luck, Keep us posted...K_K

O.k,
I don,t know what lighting your using, but immediate problems would be:
#1 Mason jars allow light in which roots hate, and would cause algea to grow in the hydro setup,# 2 A pint container would only hold my seedlings for 3 weeks! At 4 months growth I,m smoking dried buds longer than the size of your plants!I,m not trying to disrespect, just letting you know a good grow guide is needed!search for marijauna growers guide..free copies for download are everywere.

OK , sorry I haven't kept you posted for a while , my hydro plant did pass away a couple weeks ago , my soil or organic whatever is flourishing but in danger due to lack of light. I had some password problems and I couldn't log on for a while.Well th plant that is alive is now in a 1gal. pot ,with 1 65watt plant light with 3 mirrors and tin foil surrounding the plant in a little 4-5ft. corner (dark) watered every 2-3 days fanned about 75% of the day , I'm gonna go one stepp at a time now man , I'm concentrating on just this one plat for a while at least!

Mirrors r no good man, and if I were you I'd be at least getting fluos for lights, hid, 250 watts at the least, I'm not an expert but from my limited experience this is what i suggest. Good Luck!!! tdog

the tiny 65 watt(i'm guessing gro'n show,) is the reason it lasted so long.'a chain is only as strong as its weakest link' , with that amount of lumens availible the conditions were not right to pack the jar with roots. light is needed to produce algae and clear containers let lots of light in, as stated above. a plant that is growing and doing well will more than fill a mason with roots within 1 month. bigger and opaque jars are a step in the right direction, you've grown the weed now just give it more room and more light to grow up on.peace

I've gotta go buy some flouro's from home depot and more soil to make it better , I know that transplanting does affect the plant but could I still transplant it to a 3-5 gal. bucket or pot? It would just stun it right? Well anyways right now I don't have a job ,no means of money besides a $20 here and there for gas from my mom(pathetic) and I just now mailed my w2 so it won't be for antother 4-6 weeks till I get that check back , even then it'll only be for $400 , I still get child support paid to me ,due to a lot of back payments ,when I get some money I will get the light's and soil to grow properly.
