circlelight 150w flos ? [Post#: 99735 ]

the circle light 150w output flo. from a co. called "lights of america".it's a flo in a circle center mounted to a ballast that runs off a std light fixture(screws in). They make a 75,90,150w,and a 3way that has all 3. the 3way works just like a std 3way,so is not practical for use with a timer. I picked up one of the 150w ones w/one of those trouble lights mechanics use for $15.00 at Menards. It only uses 30w of power for an output of 150w/2600 lumens. Placed next to a 4'shoplight w/80w cool whites it looks a bit redder/warmer,but gives off a heck of alot more light and only takes up about a 10"square space. Being that it has a warmer look will something like this be good for mothers and clones or will the redder output tend over time to cause flowering even if kept on 24/7 ? It burns just as cool as any flo,so it can be kept close to the plants . Should I maybe set up 2 of these with the 4' shoplight like this...( 0I0 ),(I don't have the symbol for division on my keyboard)? Anybody got any thoughts on this(the light not my keyboard ) ? hehehe If this proves to be a good type of high output flo for growing, they can be found at any Menards for just under $10,and they also sell replacement bulbs (but they're supposed to last for years).

Re: circlelight 150w flos ? new [Post#: 100190 / re: 99735 ]

I've been using this light on seedling with no aparent problems,in fact plant seems to like it. I guess my ? is being it's warmer color than cool whites, will it cause premature flowering or is that controlled by the cycle(12/12)alone?
