I recently put 8 clones into Vic's Super Soil (see other post) and they seem to be showing a deficiency or lockout of some kind. The new sets and top leaves have turned yellow. I decided not to add the Fritted Trace Elements listed in the recipe, and couldn't obtain Kelp Meal. I also substituted Hydrated Lime for the Dolomite lime listed. I noticed as I was mixing it through that the hydrated lime sort of stuck together in a small ball, like flour. Next time I think I'll sift it to avoid this possible problem.
So are they craving micronutrients or have they been locked out my the high nute level (soil left composted for only 1 week). Should I foliar spray with some FTE's or should I wait and see if they grow out of it as they get bigger and their nutrient usage increases? Has anyone ever used Vic's Super Soil and did they find that the clones showed signs of nutrient problems early on?
As I am relatively new with Organics, does anyone have any mixes that they use that work well for the entire grow? I would prefer a mix that requires no additional nutrients or teas throughout the grow, but all suggestions are welcome.

Hey Skunkas,
How much hydrated lime did you use? you can burn your plants with it if you use too much, it's highly soluble, best way to use it is to add 1 tsp. per gallon of water each time you water if no dolomite was added. as for micronutrients, stay away from those FTE's, you can use plain old fish emulsion to supply them! another good source of micronutrients is DE (Diatomaceous Earth), which contains a full range of trace elements which are immediately available. I'd mix 1 Tbls. per gallon of water, just once or twice, and you should be good to go. you can add more, I've sprinkled a good layer on my soil before to try and combat fungas gnats(which did'nt work by the way!) and it did'nt affect them at all....good luck...moonshiner
