Hey, how old do you think your kid should be before you start toking up together? Just wondering what people think about this.

I think it all depends on the kid. If the kid is mature and responcible enough then I would consider smoking with him/her. Smoking pot is a good thing,IMHO, but irresponcible kids can turn it into a bad thing. I started when I was 15 and now I'm 17. It has changed my view on life for the better. I see things in a positive aspect now. I wish my parents would toke up with me. I hate having to go behind their backs. I hate the fact that each time I buy a sack a cop could be around the corner waiting on me. I think if a father and son smoke together they will be closer than before. Same with mother and daughter. If any of you that are reading this have kids that smoke pot stop making them go to the black market to get their herb.
Legalize it. Don't criticize it.

I started smoking at an early age and have been a head since. I don't feel like this injured me other than my parents slammingme in long-term rehab (2 years dude, for weed!). As a parent, though, I must say that I think kids should not smoke pot. There is a time for everything in life and I believe that kids have too much preparation to do for the real world to be getting baked and wasting time. I also realize that my children will not necessarily listen to me on this matter and will prob. look at me as a hypocrit. All I want is honesty from them. Tough question, especially if you yourself started smoking at a young age (I was 12, definitely too young).

Very true indeed Alien,
Parents should never continue to ban there children from using pot after they've proven to be responsible enough... the thing is, is that most kids (including myself, i'm 17) don't completely prove to their folks that they are in fact responsible enough to smoke. And you know how parents are, they have to be sure of things, especially when it comes to their children making their own decisions... especially when it comes to an illegal activity that's going to harm their lungs
peace, and good luck to all children dealing with parents...My advise is to prove that you are responsible in ALL the things you do

I would love nothing more than to smoke up w/my son's one day, but who knows whether or not they will even smoke. But to answer your question, I think at least 18. Sorry young brothers, I think you have too much to learn and do before you get blasted. I never appreciated the way my parents felt until I became a parent myself. Just make sure to TCB before chilling.

I smoke with my mom all the time, and my dad supplies it. (I am 15) My parents dont want me to smoke chronic all the time and end up a burnout, but they respect my honesty in what I do, and it seriously has helped the relationship I have with my parents! You guys dont have to necessarily even toke with ur kids, just listen to them, respect them, and look at it this way...at least if you let them smoke it at home, they arent out somewhere behind ur back in a situation where they could get hurt!

I knew my son smoked at 15. I just kind of ignored it since I smoked at 12, But I told him I didn't agree with it until he was 18. After he turned 18 I've been smoking with him ever since. We now grow together and do pretty well at not spending money on weed. The point is I personally believe the age should be 18 before a parent smokes with their kids.
I get by with a little help from my friends

I started smoking marijuana the summer between 4th and 5th grade. I can say it has caused a fair amount of problems in my life in the past. By the time I was 12 I had been arrested and expelled from school for distrobution of 2 ounces at school. It was both good and bad for me though. I ended up only getting probation, but if I had been older and arrested for that amount im sure I would have been in JDC for 6 months. The first time I smoked, I toked a quarter of Boat, pcp and marijuana, with 1 friend. It probibly did a fair amount of damage to my young mind. I have still spent the past 4 years in G.T. schools though, and am one of the most intelligent people at my school. I have started to use LSD a fair amount now, and my eyes are opening to the world more and more as time goes on. I think that starting when I did, can cause problems. It should be decided on if the person can handle it or not, how mature they are, and how they act about drugs in general. I am 16 by the way.

I cought my son smoking pot when he was 17 and I told him he should only smoke in the house so he doesnt get busted. I started to smoke with him then, like I said, he was 17. I would have perfered he was 18, though.

can you really tell your child when it's appropriate to start smoking herb though?
i mean everyone here that sais it should be 18 is over 18 . now i am 16 and beleive it should be until around 17 but that doesn't stop me from smking now.
the reasons are the same whatever the age.
