I concur with the suggestion that mekki makes. DOM, aka STP (Serenity, Tranquility, and Peace) did enjoy a fame of sorts around the first part of the 1970's. I think that the normal mode of application was oral, but I have read accounts of people shooting it as well. It is one of Shulgins hallucinogenic amphetamines. Street level distribution was a disaster-the shit was just too strong for novices. I remember hearing a story (maybe apocryphal)about a San Francisco rock gathering around 73 or 74 at which STP was handed out in oral dose capsules. The dosage was way too high though, and many freaked out. From what I understand the effects are like the purest LSD combined with the purest speed-and very long lasting. This could all be hearsay, though-so don't take my humble word for it.

It wasn't STP. Back then I knew all the stuff that was on the streets but I forget the name of this drug. The guy that told me about it is long gone somewhere else. Things it's not: LSD, MDA, STP, Mesc,. I wonder if it's PMA even though it's only got 3 initials. The reason I say this is because PMA is being blamed for some deaths recently AND it's just resurfaced. Therefore it was on the streets in some past era. The only negative with this past statement is that from what I've heard: PMA is not such a great high. But maybe when injected it provides an incredible rush? Anyway a few guys in my home town died because of injecting this drug. They couldn't stop doing it it was so good. Better than meth, mda etc. I'm sure that these deaths can be found in my home town paper but I doubt if a 1973 - 1974 paper exists. I'm really curious as to what this drug was thats all.

Here is a little excerpt from a DEA drug alert:
"In 1973, PMA was produced by clandestine laboratory facilities in Canada. PMA manufactured by these operations appeared in limited areas of Canada and the United States. During that time, three deaths were suspected and two deaths were determined to be associated with PMA abuse in the United States. Eight deaths in Canada were attributed to PMA abuse. Federal, state, and local forensic laboratories in Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, and the Centre of Forensic Science in Toronto, Canada, confirmed that PMA contributed to those deaths."
The time frame fits. The rest of the report is here

Red eye...snorting E is harsh IMO. I think snorting anythin sucks but especially E considering its consistency in terms of what it is. My friend had never done any hard drug before, then he snorted some E one day...his life will never be the same and I suspect he will son die from his addictions. He is a complete "nasal fiend" and I personally do not recommend snorting anything, especially E if you plan on living a long, prosperous life. Besides your e is better utilized taken orally...longer effects and much less damage to the nervous system.
I really doubt it was PCP since it is readily available (horse tranquilizer) and its effects are far from euphoric. Who knows, what you were doing...shit man, still today nobody nows exactly whats in these types of drugs, primarily what is sold as "E"!
Peace and sorry for the interuption there guys!

It wasn't angel dust. That didn't really hit my home town until just a little later but may have been around in smaller quantities in 1973-74 but I never heard of it there until late 1974-1975; but it wasn't PCP because I know PCP. Anyway I'll put my money on PMA because MA = mortgage association or MDMA for the same reason.

mekki: It really sounds like PMA's the one. I don't know why I kept thinking 4 initials though. It must be really good when injected. But I've read that 'E' people don't like it as much as 'E' when taken in a non-injected fashion. 1973. Yeah. That's it. My home town is within 60 miles of Toronto so I think and am pretty sure it's PMA. They(they being the distribution and manufacturing people) took it off the streets because it was attracting too much heat.

PMA has recently resurfaced in pills which are supposed to contain E. One pill will fuck you up bad. The problem is many people are used to dropping more than one pill. This has resulted in a few deaths in eastern Canada and the U.S.

After reading the DEA report(those guys are useful for something besides inflicting misery on people some of whom may already be miserable to begin with) I'm 100% sure that the drug I'm talking about is PMA. Perhaps in the 70's they gave it another initial? Whatever. Was it legal back then since it hadn't surfaced before? Is it legal now? I'm talking about in Canada?
