I've been doing a lot of thinking about something I read awhile ago. It was something along the idea that flashbacks attributed to LSD or other psychedelics are no different from the flashbacks experienced by a typical non-user. A flashback, according to modern psychology, is a vivid recall of memory by anyone who has had a very emotional or traumatic past experience. Seeing as how psychedelic experiences are often described as very emotional, truamatic, and life-changing, it would only make sense that these experiences are recalled more often. So what is typically thought to be a flashback caused by the acid you took is actually a normal (by psychological definition) flashback of your tripping experience. I guess I bring this up becuase I hear way too many stupid stories about acid sitting latent in your spine or fat until it is released some years later to give you a sudden "flashback." Well. . . if any of this hullaballoo were true, you wouldn't experience a "flashback" upon having acid re-introduced into your system. . . . you'd start tripping again.
Has anyone else read or heard about this idea? Or how about this: Can anyone recall an "acid flashback" of theirs that flashed back to a boring part of your trip, or do you just recall the very peak parts?
Just some stoned ramblings. Comment and correct where necessary.

I think that it is no different from having any other strong memory experience such as shell shock or deja-vu... The drug leaves your body in 2-3 days but the experience is there for a lifetime.

Well I Know Someone Who Had A Flashback...Me And My Girl Friend Eva Were At This Party And She Is An Extremely Attractive Girl. She Only Smokes Weed And Would Never Touch Any Other Drug. One Of The Other Guys Put Lsd In Her Arizona Iced Tea. The Guy Who Did It Was Sitting On The Couch Next To Me For And Was Telling Me He Is Gonna Be Fucking Her Tonight(If You Saw Her You Would Understand)Cause He Put Some Lsd In Her Drink So After I Beat The Shit Out Of Him I Drove Her Somewhere Else Until She Could Go Home....About 3 Months Later On Febuary 14 2001 We Were Leaving That Night To Go Snowboarding In British Columbia For A Week So Instead Of Driving To School i took her bus to her house and her parents were going to be taking us to the airport Around 5:30...So We Were On The Bus Coming Home From School And She Just Started Freaking Out... She Said That There Were Spiders Crawling All Over Her(There Really Wasn't Any Spiders)I Calmed Her Down and Got Her Off The Bus And We Were Crossing The Road And She Fell Down I Turned Around To Pick Her Up And See A Car Coming Towards Us Tires SCREECHING I Push Her Out Of The Way(she was between the curb and sidewalk Then) The Car Swerved And Was Almost Sideways And Hit Us Both. I Remember Laying On The Ground Feeling No Pain I Could Barely Move I Was Waiting To Die Then My Vision Became Clear And Hearing Came Back Then The Pain Started It Went From Nothing To The most Pain Ever, Everything Seemed To Be Spinning Around Me I Was Confused and Unsure Of What Was Going On..Then The Next Thing I Remember Was Waking Up In The Hospital 3 Days Later(i was in a coma)..With A Broken Neck, Arm, Leg And All Cut And Bruised...Eva Didn't Make It, She Died Febuary 14 2001, she was only 16......I Feel Responsible For Everything... I Took Her To That Party And I Should Have Drove To School That Day...
Its Not Worth It, Dont Fuck With Lsd, Just Stick To The Weed
I Know Your Probaly Not Gonna Care, You Think It Wont Happen To You, But She Only Used It 1 Time And It Wasn't Her Choice

Sorry about your most un-fortunate experiences brother; truly a horrible tragedy which you are not to blame for. Peace to you and may your soul rest assure that it was not your fault.
I too know of some people who experienced some sevear damage from un-intentionally dosing LSD...probably one of the most disgusting and iresponsible thing is to drug somebody un-willingly.
Although I have no personal experience with acid, I believe LSD, like hallucinegenic mushrooms can provide a powerfull, enlightening experience under the right circumstances. There is no doubt that without intentionally using these substances that ones experience will more then likely be a negative one IMO. I personally wish that psilocybin mushrooms were legaly and readily available to the public so more people would have the option of using more natural means of experiencing "psycedelicism." Ones choice to use LSD, should be there own, including the choice not to use this powerfull substance. In my opinion, fellows that drug people are the animals that belong in cages we call jail, not the innocent and respectable cannabis culture and other responsible drug users at large.

I Totally Agree With What Your Saying... If They Legalize Natural Drugs Like Marijuana, Peyote,or Shrooms There Would Be Alot Less People Using LSD, Inhalents, Or Anything That Doesn't Come From The Earth......If It Doesn't Come From The Earth It Isn't For Me...
I Know Theres Gonna Be Alot Of People That Are Gonna Think Im Some Kind Of Fag Or Something For What Im About To Say But If You Think About It You Will Understand To...
I Strongly Beleive In The D.A.R.E. Program... Theres Alot Of People That See Me Whering A DARE Shirt At The Gym And They Think Im Joking Around But Programs Like That Eduacate Kids About Substances And I Have Made My Decisions Based On Whta i Have Learned...If It Wasn't For Programs Like That Then Maybe Even I Would Be Taking Acid Or Dippys.Most People Take Shit Like That out Of Ignorance....Alot Of People That Take E Dont Realize Whats In It

I don't think the DARE program is positive at all. The DARE program teaches lies, which is silly! We need to educate the truth, and these teachers need to be experienced drug users, not hypocritical police officers and narcotics officers who have no first hand experience other than enforcement. Just my opinion bro, and I respect yours. Everything we know of has come from the earth, however some things like LSD are anthropogenic products of the natural occuring world; some would argue these substances were never meant to be sythesized.

Well You Are Intiltled To Your Opinion And If Thats How You Feel Then Whatever...I Guess In Different Areas The Programs Must Be Different Here In New Jersey They Have Former Drug Users Come In And Tell There Stories Of What Happened To Them And You Really Learn Alot...Its Not All About "SAY NO" They Tell You The Facts And You Decide Just A Couple Days Ago Before The Senior Prom A Guy Came In To Talk About Drugs And Alcohol. He Basically Talked About A Time About Being At A Party "Totally Piss Drunk" Somebody Brought In A Huge Bong He Hit It A Couple Times Then One Of His Friends Had One Of Those Flash lights That Make The SIren Noise AND They Were Outside And Turned It On And Pounded On The Door And Said "POLICE, OPEN UP!" he said he ran out the back door and never looked back he ran all the way to his house went inside and went to sleep...The Next Morning He Realized He Was 1 house short. He Woke Up In His Neighbors House Totally Naked. To This Day His neighbor calls him "Mr.Naked"
Its Not The Same Program It Used To Be...
I Remember When I Was In 1-5GRADE It Was All About People That Never Used Drugs Just Saying "Say No To Drugs" But They Realized That That Doesn't Work...
Dare(in my area) has set up indoor Basketball, tennis, and Hockey. Just To Give Kids Something To Do.That Way They Dont Start Using Drugs For Something To Do.But I Guess Its Not Like That Every Where...
