censorship on a sex forum?!?! WTF???

this is a test, to see what is and isn't allowed here, anymore.
i'm pissed off to see that here, on Cannabis Culture, a suppossed haven for the open-minded, the [censored] flag is showing up. what gives?
can't i say, here in Stoner Sexuality, that i'd like to smoke a big fat bowl and [censored] all night? that some folks like to eat [censored], even though it sickens me? can't i question who likes golden showers (i.e. having someone piss on you)?
can i rub your pussy, or your cunt? would you fondle my dick?
or will this read {censored] [censored]? must we lower ourselves to talking in aseptical clinical terminology?
"Gee, i very much enjoy smoking a cannabis cigarette, and then slowly manipulating your vagina, while you caress my penis."
can i say ass anymore? what about fag? or bitch?
who decides what we can and can't see here, now? i thought that, in the "Stoner Sexuality" forum especially, we're all relatively open-minded and adult?
WTF GIVES????

I fully agree with you. How can you have censorship on a website such as this? I do not understand. Maybe it is an option with the BBS software they are using that requires one of the admin's to turn OFF the censorship?
Maybe we deserve an explanation.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ...so i says to him, "[censored] man, just roll it up!"

Hello - Having one's posts deleted from a message board, that is privately owned and operated is NOT censorship. Censorship is a very specific thing. It is when government uses its monopoloy on the use of force to keep an individual from practicing freedom of experssion.
An example of this would be the Government banning certain kinds of literature and criminalizing people who are using their own printing press to produce some kinds of literature.
This whole website is not a public-funded service. It belongs to Cannabis Culture and the people who own Cannabis Culture Magazine.
This means they are free to do whatever they want with their property. They can moderate - delete - post whatever they want - (Barring defamation, slander and libel)
If you don't like it - you are free to post away in thousands of different forums, messageboards - BBS and usenet. Nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to participate in this forum.
If you don't like the way the message boards are run then *you* buy the equipment and hire the people to run a similar service and go into competition... and then YOU can post to your hearts desire on whatever subject and in whatever manner you decide.
Freedom of expression also implies the corrollary of Freedom of Association. The posters who take part in this forum and others on CC discussion boards - have voluntarily chosen to take part. They are free to come and go as they wish.
If the deleting of messages and moderation gets too strange, weird - or out of hand - the market will fix the problem. People will simply stop using this message board.
To reiterate: The Right to Free Speech obligates NOBODY to provide you with a soapbox on which to air your views. It simply means that nobody should LEGALLY be allowed to stop you from standing on *your* soapbox and speaking your views
Regards MWW

Fungle, baby! Glad to see you back.
Now, what's eating you (no pardoning the pun)? If there was any censoring of terminology used don't ya think I would've been outa here aeons ago? Perhaps you missed the whole "Something New..." thread...there's enough unchecked raunch in there to satisfy the most hardcore of Junior High Bathroom Humour afficionados:~p

guess what? you're wrong again.
Censorship is a very specific thing. It is when government uses its monopoloy on the use of force to keep an individual from practicing freedom of experssion.
censorship is the act of censoring. censoring is deleting and/or changing a person's words or deeds, as they may be construed as offensive, subversive, or otherwise inconvenient to the censor.
thanks for telling me that these forums are owned and operated by Cannabis Culture. i never would have guessed, without your delightfully condescending pedagogy.
If you don't like it - you are free to post away in thousands of different forums, messageboards - BBS and usenet. Nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to participate in this forum
once again, you've brought forth the light of wisdom to my otherwise blind little eyes. spank you very much.
you may also have noticed that, before the new software was installed on these boards, there was a definite policy of allowing users to speak their minds. my concern was that this may have been changed, although my assumption is that it's still on a default, with f*ck and sh*t in a little .txt file of words to be filtered. not that i'd expect you to think it through that far or anything...
and so i asked about it here. why don't i ask about it on another BBS or usenet group? maybe because the only people who can address this question work here, numbskull.
btw, i know the meaning of freedom quite well, thank you. notice how i didn't delete your idiotic ramblings, but rather countered them with my own?
that's how it's been around here for a long time - only now, because of something that could probably be easily tweaked, we can't say [censored] or [censored] anymore.
that's all.

no, Dana, but when i first noticed the [censored] flag come up, it was here - and i wasn't yet aware that it was across all the forums.
please, have karlis take a look at the software - unless, of course, you'd like to keep a censored words list. in that case, please get karlis to write an faq, telling what is and isn't allowed here, definitavely.
no biggie, dude.

and ready for action.

the thing is, Mama, that that thread was in existance before the new software was installed. in your next post, write sh*t or f*ck (with the proper vowels, of course!), and see what happens.
that worries me. nobody who posts here acts like the sort of retard who needs the dirty words filtered out - so why not just tweak it?
i guess Karlis has been busy. i'm sure he'll get around to fixing it, eventually.

This is bad, Not good for me, when one of my favorite words comes up as [censored]. And shi+ is a very expressive word too. What else do you call some of the lies about pot put out there by it's oppressors?
Censorship on such a supposedly subversive forum. This is bothersome, even more so than having to see fungle raged at for over a page by someone who apparently didn't know what he meant anyways. This is disturbing, having to use asterixs to say that I'm rolling up some good sh*t, or mentioning anal f*cking, the way I've seen the moderators do.
Must we be so f$#king PC? I'd like to feel that I'm posting at CAnnabis Culture again, and not at Walmart.

Yoyoyo...chill. I betcha anything it wasn't MEANT. Karlis is a very busy little beaver right now and I think he's going to get busier soon.
I'm sure we're all goint to be able to chat in whatever vernacular we wish in a bit, but in the meantime, why dont't we take it as a challenge to concentrate on the erotique rather than the pornographic. You all know that I myself enjoy having my "PUSSY & [censored] [censored]", but in the meantime, I'm sure I'll quite enjoy having my "hot, deep, wet, holes plunged and plowed" instead ;~>
