Can you get high off of bong water???

This might not be a cooking ?? but i didnt know where else to post this. I know THC is fat soluble, and water isn't fat. But i also know that tests have shown water takes out THC. So.........

Hi homegrown 2001,
I've never drank it myself, but I have known people to drink bong water and catch a buzz.
My main concern with it is this...the water in a bong is used to filter out carcinogens that would otherwise enter your body. To drink this filtering system would be consuming material which is not healthy for you.
I advise against it for that health reason.
If you do drink it, let me know how it turns out.

That sounds really really GROSS to me.
I had a friend that used to snort the ashes from a J. Burned his nose bad so he thought he got high. HEEE. Oh well, he was a friend so I didnt bug him to much about it. Just a little.

Once had no papers, only a Super Big Gulp, a pack of smokes, some gum a lighter, and some good herb that I really wanted to smoke. I don't suggest going the following, but desperate times called for desperate measures my friends.
Step#1 Light a smoke, the less O2 that you get the better this idea sounds.
Step#2 Take a piece of paper backed foil out of the pack, remove the paper.
Step#3 Make sure that the super big gulp is past half empty.
Poke a hole in the side, above the "coke" ;P so you can draw air.
Step#4 Use gum to seal the straws entrance hole into the lid. Have a test draw on it. It should bubble, just like the bong at home.
Step#5 Roll a "cone" out of the foil, put it into the end of the straw, fill with a moderate amount of herb.
Step#6 Get baked, carefully. Small hits only, as the straw could melt. Also from what I hear, alum foil is BAD to smoke from.
This really works, but you have to be in a real pinch. I was, I had a long walk home, and a buddys car was parked in his driveway, collecting dust, so I hopped in.I thought he still had papers in his glove box, but the bastard had brought taken them out, and it was too late to wake him.
Now I guess someone is saying "WHY the hell did he post that under the bong water question"?
Assume that I got really, really, REALLY thirsty, with bad cottonmouth. I still had a Super Big GUlp, it couldn't be that bad could it? Try it sometime.

ok - lets start by seeing if I am sober enough to explain whats wrong here - THC is not water soluble - as far as water taking THC out - well the only thing for the water is this - one you may be thinking of water extraction for hash - where essentialy, the water leaves only the thc behind - the only reason I can think of that there would be less THC in the smoke after the water in the bong than before - ya gotta wonder how that could be measured - I can see a few molacules of thc STUCK to the tar and such in the water - but lord knows what the crud in there would do to you from drinking it.

ack! blech...i'd rather be sober. bong water is shitty enough outside the body, lord knows what it would be like inside. i think you'd be better off waiting for your next supply of pot.

Yes, I've gotten high off bong water many times. The NORML/MAPS study showed that bongs are actually counterproductive- they increase the ratio of tars to THC because they are actually more efficient at filtering out the THC than the carcinogens! But I have to admit, it does taste a little funky...
