cannabutter? [Post#: 63251 / re: 62875 ]

Okay, this is my first foray into the whole cooking experience (long time smoker, first time cooker). Most important question: how much herb to how much butter? I don't have any shake and I don't expect to be able to get any for a while, so I'll be using buds. I've seen some recipes in cannabisculture that call for 1/4 oz., but those were for adding into the mix, not for making butter.

My recipe calls for 2 sticks (1 cup) of butter, so I don't think I'll be making the 5 pounds worth of butter recomended by Friday. (and I wouldn't want to pay for a 1/2 pound of good bud; good god)

Any help would be apreciated.

Hi.

You know, when I'm using straight bud, I don't make it into butter. Butter's good if you're making a big batch with shake, but with bud; you don't want to loose too much thc and so it's better to eat it as bud.

I suggest you ground and brown your bud in oil on the stove top until fragrant; not burnt! Add this to your recipe-figuring roughly one gram of good bud will get you baked. And put in the amount according to how many servings you're making.

Butter is such a long messy process too, that it's not worth all that work for a little bud.

Hope that helps.

thanx a lot. Ummm . . . I'm making cookies and there is no oil in the recipe; does it matter?

the recipe calls for
2sticks butter
3/4c white sugar
3/4c brown sugar
2 eggs
1tsp vanila extract
2&1/4c flour
2c chocolate chips
1/2c nuts
1tsp baking soda

I don't do a whole lot of cooking, so I have no idea. You meant vegetable oil like you would use to make popcorn right?

I have heard that flour counteracts the thc and you should use as little of it as possible. Is this true? If so, how much flour should I cut out?
