Friday ,how ? [Post#: 63725 / re: 62875 ]

I have some nice buds thanks to wonder and super jack guys. I cannot smoke anything now. So I made some waffels and left the grean matter in. That was not a good idea for me.
I do have some butter. I understand now about not letting the butter get too hot. How long shoud I cook this butter with buds?
I made a tincture out of (I cannot spell it) tequella. This shoud be ready now. Can I cook with this to eat the thc?
I will order a cook book. Do you recomend any?
I can't think of what to search for in your cooking with cannabis forum.
I am having too much pain. I am having problems swallowing.

Hi Grandma.

Ok. When making butter, it's tough to say for how long. Some books recommend 1 hr of simmering, while others say 8 - 12. So, it would really depend on how much bud and butter you're using. In the archives, I have a detailed recipe for Friday's buzzin' butter. You can go there for all the instructions you need.

As far as cooking with your tincture, yes you could do that. Though I don't really see the point. I think you'd be better off to just drink it, or to mix it into a beverage of some sort.

I have lots of recipes for drinks, like bhang and weed tea, here on the forum. Some using the butter, others using straight cannabis.

Something like this would be potent and easy to swallow.

hope this helps.

Friday

grandma!

I hate eating cannabis - the leafy matter, that is. Yuck.

I just strain it through a cheeze cloth.....my friend Dana Rozek recommends a slow simmer in a double boiler for as long as possible - even 24 hours!

If you happen to be suffering a sore throat, a little grape-fruit seed extract does the job for me every time.

Big love,

David

Nice to hear from you david .. I have been problems breathing and cannot smoke anything. I made some wonderful green cookies and I am about to make some more. These were very strong. I would eat two then want more because they are sweet and crunchy. Soon I would have eaten 4 or 5 or 6 or. Then I would fall asleep catching my bobbing head before it hit the keybord to the computer. I cought up on much needed sleep.
I freeze the cookies because of the butter. I would like to send cookies to a friend in need. Could those police dogs smell the MJ butter in the cookies?

Greeting Grandma,

I don't know if your question is for David or just in general.

If the package is something that is being sent within the country, I would recommend just packaging it really tightly. Within Canada, it is quite easy to mail packages like this.

If you're mailing through customs, you may come across problems.

I think the rule of thumb is, if you can smell it, a dog definitley could. Pot food tends to be pretty stinky, so I would mail with caution. Even if you can smell them only slightly; a dog, whose senses are extremely strong, will likely smell them quite easily.

So just be careful dear.

happy baking,
Friday

Always a pleasure, Grandma.

Color may be a give-away for customs agents....perhaps brownies or some other really fancy pastry (swank/stealth tech) would be less likely to be smelled, noticed or interfered with.

The trick would be to minimize the chance of smell. Without looking like you were trying to disguise the smell too much, air tight containers, tinfoil, the smell of coffee or orange peels or something else as odorous - like triple chocolate liquor triple fudge cream souflee....mmmm. I need some anandamides.

Also... filtration may prevent smells from existing. They could be smelling for the plant material, rather than the thc...so do two or three times through cheezecloth (t-shirt) to get the least amount of green vegitable matter in your cannabutter.

Peace out!

If you are mailing within your own country there is no
need to trip on customs, the people at the post office
are only trained to smell the box,I know this, because
I've had things mailed to myself, and they ALL got here.

I had some buds mailed to me from canada, and it worried
me to the point that i will never send or receive anything
from another country again,except beans.
my point to all that:) is if you cant mail mail it
in your own country, its not worth the risk for either
partys...
