What is she doin?

OK, so i have this bag lady at 44 days into flowering and she is starting to stretch again like crazy. All of the nice tight buds are thinning out and she's going for the hood again. The stretching stopped about 2 weeks ago and now i see it again with no changes to my system. It is important to note that the other 4 plants are not doing this. But what i wanna know is how do i stop this lovely bag lady from thinning out and why she might be doing this? 3x4', 5 plants, 1000w HPS at 12/12, GH nutes, temps at 85/65 and humidity at 50%. Any ideas would be appreciated.

It's hard to tell. A few things that cause plants to re-stretch are...High nitrogen fertz application towards end of budding phase, interruption of dark cycle(is your plant next to the cracked open door?), flowering cycle is finished, and too much heat. Personally, I would stop the nute applications at this point.

83.3 watts sq ft would make wanna stretch to! Sounds like a nice problem. I have read of people bending them when they get to big. It's natural for the plant to stretch in spurts during the flowering. I'am not sure about this but you could almost break or at least severly bend the tip to slowth the upward growth. Provided you don't cut off the nuterient flow to the top part of the bud it should still fill out and slow the upward stretch. I have the same problem one of my females is 10inches larger fortunately I have some head room left with 4 more weeks to go. Your growing hydro so I can't really help with the nutes but I would consider easing off on the Nitrogen at least with soil. Hopefully someone else can verify this bending idea with experience. I am not a pro so it's just MHO.

ok, i thought maybe some pics would help... this is so weird to me... the plant has 2 main stems and one half is fine and dandy, the pistils are even starting to turn now at day 45. The other half is stretching like crazy and looking pathetic and no pistil change yet. This is a pic of the good half...

this is hydro with one reservoir so i can't really figure out why there is such a difference... this is a pic of another plant from a different bag seed strain... the other 4 plants all look great, it is just this one plant, and just half of it...
am i just fighting bad genetics from unknown bag seed?

last question as i do not intend on worrying about these bag ladies too much... if i had good genetics and paid for them, i might spend a bit more time with this issue...
since the one stem has maturing buds with pistils changing, should i just go ahead and flush when this half is ready and then put her back on nutes after this half is harvested and wait for the other half? is there hope for the other half maturing properly, but later?

I think it's simply the bad genetic thing. My plants are bag and doing very different things like yours. One plant with 2 Stems sounds like a candidate for trouble. Get whatcha pay for most of the time. Can't tell about the maturing later thing either. I would guess it can work. Be glad they didn't go hermie and move on to the next batch of wenches for abuse. Good Luck with the harvest!
