a CHEAP WAY TO CONTROL MOISTURE PROBLEMS... [Post#: 108207 ]

I had a problem with moisture in my grow room...you could see streaks and droplets of water all over my mylar and on the side of the buckets and even collecting a bit on my reflector. A real wet mo-fo. I saw this stuff called "Damp-Rid" at the local huge hardware store (Home Depot-type). It's just a container with an perforated insert. All you do is pour these little granules in the container and they absorb moisture and drop it into a reservoir below. The shit really works, too! I no longer have ANY moisture collecting anywhere in the room. I read that moisture is good for veg, but dry is preferred for 12/12, so I was very happy to have discovered this stuff. The containers are about $5 US dollars and the refill which can fill the container about 5 times, is only $2.50. One container-full lasts about two weeks. You can actually see the water collecting the the reservoir in the container, too.
This may be somethhing that everybody knows about already, but I have never read about it and I thought I would pass it along.
Oh, yeah, the granules are oderless it says that it doesn't produce any vapors, noxious fumes, or out-gassing, so it should be safe for plants. We have had ours in our room for abouit six weeks and the plants show now signs of ill-health (see pot picture post if you're curious).
