ph level is up new [Post#: 112991 ]

All my nutrients are in the soil. But my ph is around 7.5 or so. How could i lower it a little bit?

You could use hydroponic grade pH down... if you cant find any switch your fertilizer to Miracid or somethign similar. Miracid is specifically formulated to bring down the pH of a soil. My water pH in SanFran is about 9.0!!! with my Miracid at 1/4 str it dropd to about 7.5 then I adjust with pH down from there. Odds are your tap water is not as Alkaline and Miracid might do it for you. Of course you could try vinegar or pH down... but I'd recommend the pH down or miracid over vinegar.

Isn't Miracid a fertilizer by Miracle Grow? I would use hydrated lime, mixed with water according to the manfacturers suggestions. K_K

Another tip...if you use tap water, run the cold only and let it run for over 2 minutes before using the water. This way your water should be "softer" and have a lower pH...less lead and carbonate minerals usually when this is done. Works for me, and then when it is still to high, I add a minute amount of "pH down" which I bought at my local hydro store. I think using vinegar would be effective, but not a great solution in the long term, so be wary of what others suggest.

If you do use tap water, insure that you let the water sit out for at least a few hours, in order for the chlorine to evaporate...you should notice the PH changing after a few hours...try it!

Yes its made by Miracle Grow... I knwo I know.. chemical ferts!!! AHHHH!!

Well I started them with chemical ferts... and I dont want to switch to organics a 1/4 way through the process due to possible shock issues. My future grows will use fish emulsions, bat guano, worm castings, and the like.

I do give them a Nitrogen boost by mixing in a cup of fresh urine to a gallon of water now and again. I eat mostly vegetables (vegetarian who cheets!) although I'll devour a rib eye now and again.

Hey I got nothing against chemical ferts, I mean after all I am a hydro grower. I only say this because you suggested she use it to lower her pH, which it may do, but it can also open doors that she don't need to open, especially since they are still seedlings.

P.S. Be careful with that pee, It works wonders but smells really f@#$%^& bad!!
