new growth /yellow & brown ?

What would cause this,and how to fix ?... I have several plants at various stages of growth. One of the smaller ones in my drip-hydro has new growth that has been comming in a bright yellow,which seems to green up over a day or two. No yellowing from edges here,even yellow color on new groth only.Now today I see a brownish tinge at the base of the new growth.( kind of like what lettuce looks like when it starts to turn brown ) ,so it's not the light being too close. Being that it's not as well developed as the rest and it's on the same nuets,does this sound like a fert problem ? Tanks for any Help you can give me. .....PEACE...

If it is a nutrient problem, (it may or may not be), it has to do with one of the immobile nutrients-since the problem started at the top of the plant. N,P,K, Mg, B and Mb are mobile, Mn and Zn are less mobile, and Ca, S, Fe, and Cu are generally immobile.

Thanks for the tip,it conferms what I found using this diagnosis test that someone had posted. Looks like a lack of mangenese (Mn) or Boron(B). Now the Q is what to do about it.? .... The info I have says to use a Fe/Zn/Mn supplement,for Mn def. ... if it's (B)def., add 1/2 tsp/gal Boric acid. ... Where can I find these cures ? Are they found in any household products I may have ? It's kind of a bummer knowing there is a cure,and not know where to find it fast. ...Thanks again ...

You should be able to find most of this stuff around town. Boric acid is available as eyewash at the local Rite-Aid or whatever. Manganese is available in most all-purpose fertilizers-and I believe that Ironite has some too (Ironite has lots of stuff in it-I will tell you what exactly when I turn my light on next so I can see the bag :)). Also I think that Superthrive might have it also, but they don't list the ingredients so who knows?

Thanks,I'll look into that. The thing is I'm using hydro ferts,with micro nuets."DYNA GROW' series. I'm going downstairs to check the labels, just to make sure nothings' missing. Yhanks again,...PEACE...

All that stuff should be included in that product-maybe you are having nutrient interference problems. I know that the absorption of Mn can be hindered by excessive amounts of Mg.

I agree,Something may be out of wack with my nuets,so tomorrow I plan on changing my resivour,I also flushed the affected plant in case of a build up of salts. I will flush it again when I change the res. I'll keep ya posted as to how that works out. THANKS again...PEACE...

Magnesium in my opinion. When mine do that I give epsom salt in a foliar spray at 1/8 teaspoon per quart and .5 strength in next watering. Few days later they're fine. Only happened twice though. If your plants were mine, thats what I would do.
Just dont ask me how many I've killed. :-)
