You guys have prob. heard this question a hundred times but when they are just getting 2nd set of leaves, what is the best hours to give it light? Is it 14hr. on 10 hr. off?

For veg a minimum of 18 hrs on.If under flourescents 24 hrs on is recommended..IMHO..PEACE..

i thought you werent suposed to use HID lamps for seedlings?
well ill consider the 24/0 with flours but still 18/6 is good no?

Most growers including myself prefer flours for seedlings.Not to say you can't do it with HIDS,many growers do with good results.Don't underestimate the use of flours in a gro-op.They don't produce as much heat and are energy efficient and I think they're easier on young plants.I use them from sprout until they're ready for flowering,for mothers and they are the best for cloning.You can fry young plants under HIDs too if you don't be careful.If you do decide to run flours go 24/7.18/6 will work but better results with 24/7 with flours and keep as close as possible to tops of plants.1 inch is a good thing...IMHO..PEACE..

24 hours light is what I use, the ones I brought up with 18/6 didnt branch nearly as fast.

Fluorescent tubes last longest if they aren't turned on and off. Leave 'em on 24 hours.

Just wanted to say: "Props to floro's"! Ever since I switched to using floros for seedlings, I have had nothing but sucess! Never again will I waste the power of an HID on seedlings and burn the buggers to oblivion. Floro's forever!
