what fert for sweet taste?

Can anyone reccomend a good hydro-fert to help promote good tasty buds? I just sampled some of ouf first buds and although there thourghly coated with resin there a little harsh and taste of chlorophyl.

The rule of thumb is no fertz for sweet buds. Water your plants with straight water for several weeks before harvest to "flush" the medium of all fertz.
Less is more...

The chlorphyll taste will go away with age. It just needs a little curing. The first sampling you say? Don't be disappointed yet. Difficulty burning and harsh taste are due to too much fert, it's too late to fix that when your rolling a fattie, but the chlorophyll taste will fade as your pot cures.

Organic ferts are said to give the best tasting bud.You still have to give a leaching followed by a flushing in the last 10-14 days of flower and then a proper drying and curing for best taste results..IMHO..PEACE..

Or anyone else that has responded here - if that is what's going to help with the taste, I'd sure like to hear about your methods. I'm about a week or 2 away from harvesting a bunch of Cinderellas. Thanks!

I believe that it doesn't matter where the fertz come from. A nitrogen molecule is a nitrogen molecule no matter if it came from GH nutes or cow manure. The plant doesn't know one way or the other where she gets her food. I think fertilizer grown pot taste bad sometimes because people mis-guage the fert dosage. Also, organic fertz are not readily available all at once. The plant has to work for them which means everything is not available at once as opposed to water soluble hand fed systems.......

From all my experiences and other freinds as well (especially beginners)...organic nutes, a good flush and proper drying and curing will help with the sweetness of your buds.
Nitrogen is nitrogen, but why bother using chemical fertalizers when there is an abundance of organic alternatives available...might as well decrease the amount of chems in your herbs, besides certain forms of nitrogen are not utilized as easily as they would be in a natural form. I think alot of chemical fertalizers ARE GREAT, especially when the grower flushes properly, but its hard for my to concieve that chemical fertalizers do not add bite and additional carcinogens to your buds IMHO. ALways remember that you are what you eat!
I do believe some growers add sugar cane to there water on the last watering/leach...but I don't personally think it would help signifigantly.
I have cured my buds with oranges, grapefruits, apples and even orange peels just for kix...Mabye it was strictly in my mind, but they did seem to have a sweeter, tastier flavour. Anyone else tried this out? If you do try anything like this, ensure that mold will not threaten your bud AT ALL!!! Mold is the enemy during the curing/drying process!
Peace and whatever fertalizer you use, remember the most important factors are properly flushing (I flush 15-20 days before harvest) drying, and then curing your flowers. Peace and goodluck with your sweet buds!

For better taste I suggest an organic fruit-essence flush product (but I can't remember what it's called! any help guys/gals?).
Breeder Steve also recomended Mollasses and Citric Acid during the last few days for increased smell and taste-so you could try that. Mollases is available at grocery stores in the syrup section; I have no clue where citric acid can be found.
Steve did caution me though that this will cause a MAJOR odor increase-so be warned.

I'm sorry, I just re-read your questions and you said you want a hydro solution for better smell. I would imagine that Citric Acid will be fine in there, but sticky mollasses could be a problem. Doh!
Perhaps (if you don't mind the mess), you could put a spoonfull of mollasses on each cube of rockwool whatever medium you are using.

I wouldn't add anything to enhance flavour to my water or air. I have heard that scent can be picked up by the plants. If you dehydrate orange peel in the room during bud, you will get orange taste to the pot, never tried it.
Once my buds are dried, they go on a screen in the outflow of the ventilation from a small room. Twenty four hours minimum spent drying on the screen, then into paper bags to finish losing moisture. Once the pot is well dried, into a sealed latch top mason jar, tumble the container and open the lid once or twice a day to release moisture. Your buds are shrinking big time during all this, even in the jar. Weight changes only as water is lost. Keep this up, you will notice the change in taste as the time passes. The chlorophyll breaks down into sugars (I think thats it) during this process and taste improves.

You can buy pure citric cid at a supermarket. They usually keep it next to baking powder etc.

I have tried using the water from steamed vegtabels.
You know the water left in the bottom of the pot that is all green and filled with all different kinds of goodies, the plant I used it on was. . . . well supiror to anything else that came out of my garden for that grow.
But
I have yet to do any real reasearch with this method, any one else?

I have tried a few different homebrew tonics for my outdoor ladies and they do seem to provide a nice perk. The two that I have tried more often are: broth of green leafy vegetables (much calium) and alfalfa tea. Alfalfa is incredibly nutritious for fauna and flora alike, because it develops extensive root structures and absorbs unusually high amounts of nutrients from lower layers of soil than most plants. Alfalfa tea contains high levels of Ca, Chl, Fe, Mg, P, K, S, and trace elements. But it is less practical than maxi-crop.
