ph ? new [Post#: 117524 ]

i have a question for ya.i bought some sta-green nursery blend potting mix today.it already has ground dolomitic limestone in it,so i shouldnt need to add anything to keep the ph stable..right?the ph out of the bag was 6.5 or so..what should i ph my water at to keep it in that 6.5 range. after i watered my seedlings today i just stuck the meter in the soil and it still said 6.8.is this a accurate way to measure ph or should i check the water after it runs thru it/ thanks for the help.

I've heard that a little lower is ideal- more like 6.2-6.5. Over 7 nutes will start getting locked out.

I also heard the same thing as cannibus..6.2-6.8. That's the same way I check my ph though with the meter in the soil directly afte I've watered. It works fine for me. My plants are doing well.
