Halogen light?

I'm using a 300 watt halogen light on two closet plants. Does provide decent light spectrums? It also gets rather hot, and heats up the soil. Thanks.

Halogen do not have the right spectrum for plants. You can use hid, mh or fluros.....nothing else!

The only real problem until the flowering stage is the extreme heat the halogen series radiates. They could actually 'burn' the plants if placed too closely.

halogens are no good.if nothing more get some 40watt floros. in there.

Hook your halogens up to a motion detector and put them in your back yard. Only use I know of.

You will bake them before their time...
You would do better using some floros, even the type that screws into a regular light socket is better than a halogen...

I was wondering the same thing ,because someone I know used 1 90 wat and 1 100 wat halogen and grew some good pot.didn't see the plants but smoked the stuff.

Thanks all. That's a no. They seem to have grown very well so far. Hopefully even better when I get a flourescent.

i grew some great hemp several years back with halogens, bought 8 of em, 9 foot tall, not a bud to be found, cause i didnt know what buds were. for as cheap as dual 40wattflouros are, instaed of going to dinner, invest in your future.
