ph adjustment [Post#: 120945 ]

I need to raise my ph from 6.4 to 7. I'm using 5 gal pales and i need to know how many cups of lime i should use. To lower my ph .6 i figure i would start out with a 1/8 of a cup. Any suggestions?

Why do you need to raise your PH that high? 6.4 sounds about right to me.

got a easy remedy for you.go to walmart, homedepot or somewhere like that.go to the garden products and ask where they keep the ph up for the outside garden ponds.you know like the outside small ponds for fish and stuff like that.becketts puts out ph up that works good and treats like 2400 gallons of water and i paid a little over 5.00... hope this helps

Hey what's up guys

Well, 6.4 is the highest i could get it with flushing. I put too much peat moss in my mix. I have some hydrated horticular lime that should do the trick. I just don't know how much to add. I've always put it in before but i forgot this time.

Don't add that lime.. Optimal PH is 6.2-6.8..you're about perfect. You don't even need to raise it at all. If it gets really low, then start using the lime at a weak strength. good luck.
