I adjusted the rubber band I'm using to keep my #1 bent over so its more so now, and its grown about 7 inches horizontally over the last month. The side branches have grown up and I now need to tie THEM down so the new growth near the top will take off. Sound good? I'll also attach pics of the yelowing leaves, any insights welcome.

heres a shot across the 'top' of the plant. The main cola is off to the right. These are the side branches that I *think* I need to tie down to main stalk level so the shoots on the main stalk will grow up. Right? You might notice the yellowing here, but I'll post one of unmistakable problemo. I think.

Lower leaves have been yellowing for a while now. She was born 2/14/2001 so shes not that old, and while I did induce flowering for a few days before deciding to back off, shes still been putting pistils out all over the place. I assume thats not the same as budding. All I'm seeing is the female sex signs, but they're all over the main cola...anyway, think its time for nutes again? Havent ferted in more than a week. Currently under 24 hours light, 6 4 foot flouros, 4 cool 2 warm.

I might also add that there is alot of red streaking int he stems. Not so much in the newest growth, but you can see in the pics the stems are dark. Ia that a P deficiency?
Question: I see liquid seaweed, fish emulsion, bat guano at the hydro shop. All those things are for N, right? What do you use for P and K organically? I dont want to use miracle grow ever again.

Your yellowing leaves look like either a magnesium or potassium (or both) deficiency, according to this nutrient disorder guide I have. I have the same problem, but I think mine is due to high soil PH. Check your soil PH, if it's okay, them give your plant some epsom salts for MG, or some other fert for potassium (I use chemical ferts). .

in my opinion..the yellowing leaves is a sign of a nitrogen deficiency...You say you've been ferting though. When was the last time you ferted and are you using a bloom fert? If you're using a bloom fert, the leaves should be yellowing a little due to the low content of nitrogen in the bloom fert, but that will correct itself. Another thing, you said "Currently under 24 hours light, 6 4 foot flouros, 4 cool 2 warm."..this is not good for flowering..put it under 12/12 if you want to flower and change the ratio of warm white to cool white 2:1. good luck though..Lemme know how this turns out for you growing all the way through with flos.

Oh..and about your stem..the purple might be completely normal. It could be the strain..I'm growing some right now that has purple stems..and the other strain I'm growing with it has green stems..give your plant some time and it'll let you know what it needs I think..

The reason I suspected potassium or MG and not nitrogen was that the yellowing looks like it affects mostly the leaf tips and areas between veins. From what I've read, nitrogen deficiency is more of a generalized yellowing.
If you put manure in your soil, it could be the problem. Too much manure can cause high salinity, which will lock out potassium.

I also have read that..but when I had a nitrogen deficiency..the bottom leaves only were turning yellow..ferted at 3 weeks and 3 days with some 20-20-20 and they've been growing incredibly ever since.

Great insights....I know my ph is high still, and I know this local mix I am using for her had some manure in it. Now that I think about it. I wonder if I should repot in my new peat/perlite/verm mix in this big 7 gallon bucket I have. Anyway as long as my ph is so high I wonder if its only because of that. Still cant figure out why watering with 6.0 water doesnt bring it down though..!
