Canadian Seed Busts

The RCMP Are Harvesting Seed Sellers 28 Feb 2006 MONTREAL, Feb. 28 /CNW Telbec/ - Members of the Marihuana Grow Operations Enforcement Team of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police concluded their first major operation when they uncovered a Montreal based criminal organization involved in the trafficking, importation and exportation of cannabis seeds, as well as in conspiring for the purpose of cannabis cultivation via the Internet. This operation was launched in November 2004 under the name "Courriel" and culminated with the seizure of 200,000 cannabis seeds and the arrest of seven persons.
The amount of seeds seized during the searches could have made it possible to operate the equivalent of 500 cannabis greenhouses of 400 plants each.

ACCORDING TO THE RCMP, A LITTLE LESS THAN 300 ORDERS HAVE BEEN SEIZED IN THE BUST AND THEY ARE GOING TO INVESTIGATE ON EACH ONE OF THEM

Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek says his department needs help because it's stretched to the limit. His office handled high profile cases like the kidnapping and murder of Jetseta Gage and the daily strain of tracking down sex offenders so he wants to give certain criminals a break to ease that strain.

03 Feb 2006 (CBS) GREENBURGH The Town of Greenburgh police chief has suspended one officer and reassigned others after a woman complained she was ridiculed and taunted for revealing she works as a dominatrix.

Gina A. Pane, 31, of Rye Brook also told police one officer arranged to meet her after she was released. A source tells CBS 2 the officer may have hinted he could make marijuana charges against Pane go away in exchange for sexual favors.

"She's really traumatized by the whole thing, and it was really uncalled for," said Tony Castro, Pane's attorney.
