Yeah "wannagetstoney", I agree; this forum is awesome...
Anyways, I wrote to this dumb-ass a while ago, and I received the same damn reply as everyone else:
On behalf of Mr. Williams I acknowledge receipt of your email. When asked for his perspective regarding illegal drugs, Mr. Williams provided a very clear statement: "Illegal drugs are a curse on our society.
Cocaine, heroine and hallucinogenic drugs are dangerous. They destroy lives and they destroy societies. There is no place for the recreational use of these drugs in a developed society." We note that you and Mr. Williams have a difference of opinion regarding this issue.

Here is the reply to the letter I sent. I expected as much
...makes me wonder if he is even capable of forming an opinion of his own. The person who responded is different though.
Dear Mr. Phillips,
On behalf of Mr. Williams, we acknowledge receipt and thank you for your email which we received in the St. Albert constituency office on April 17, 2001.
Please be advised that Mr. William's opinion has not changed and that he disagrees with the thesis that "illegal drugs should be legalized and is a means of reducing crime".
We trust you will find this satisfactory.

No I do not, in fact I do not truly believe you took the time to read my letter.
Considering the Alliance Party does have a party in Ontario, perhaps that should have provided sufficient cause to merit my letter further consideration.
Not that I'd ever consider the Alliance an alternative political consideration. No, in fact the manner in which Mr. John Williams' Alliance Constituency office has opted to respond to my letter, or should I say, ellude to respond, only further drives home to me the basic underlying problem which currently afflicts the political veneer of Canada as nation, in general, and this Constituency Office, in particular.
It is the lack of political flexibility, - when permeated in offensive, persecutory, and unfounded bias, (which incidentally, is akin to discrimination,) as a position which articulates the underpinning of a stagnate policy of the particular party and its' ideological and/or philosophical body politic, - that affects us all.
Your response most poignantly illustrates that.
Consider the following...
Given that the body count ratio for alcohol and tobacco is approx 150,000+ annually and that there is not a single fatality attributed to cannabis -0- ... should that not be your first indicator as to why CANNABIS PROHIBITION is the "state limit as perscribed by law" which should be deemed ILLEGAL.

shiznitz: thank you and they (my letters) are serious ... very serious.
I refuse to tolerate their handjobs anymore, period. I am so fed up with having to live in a world which accommadates Williams' brand of bullshit. While I do believe in non-violence as a principle, I will not be put off by him or his offices' horseshit or, for that matter, any part of that dog and pony shows' crap. I will take every opportunity to make that very clear to them in very precise language.

You want to know how to really deal with guys like John Williams? During the next election campaign in his riding, work hard for ANY candidate who has the best chance to unseat him. Bus in people to help in his opponents campaign, send them money, just make sure he loses his seat. While it would be best if the opposing candidate is stronly pro legalization, what is truly important is that this candidate is aware that we have the power to put them into office or take them out. That should given them an incentive to consider our views. Let the prohibitionists know that we intend to unseat them in the next election unless they give our positions full consideration.

wouldn't it be great if the kids could see politicians that are really concerned about there (our) freedoms
and not trying leave office while making deals and stuffing there pocket.
How many presidents (of the us) were essencially broke.. and yet live in lavious houses and run with the money boys (ronnie regan sold his ass to japan for a few mill)!
