mother/bubbler? [Post#: 111513 ]

Hi,
Is it possible to keep a mother plant in a bubbler? If so, how big does the bucket need to be? How long can I keep that mother? I'm starting from seed and I really want to use only bubblers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sure you could, although I believe most growers prefer to keep moms in soil. Because hydroponic plants grow faster, make sure not to use HID lights on her. Keep her under flouros, on a basic vegging nutrients. You'll probably have to trim her roots a few times per year. I would definitely give her a silicon additive such as ProTekt, this protects the roots from stress. Hope this help...K_K

Oh, as for size, 5G (20L) bucket for sure...

Thanks for the advice. Is there any special way to trim the roots or do I just start cutting? Does this hurt or shock the plant?

No need to get silly with a hair buzzer or anything, just trim them back with a clean pair of sharp scissors (clean them with rubbing alcohol first) eneough so she fits comfortably in the bucket without any overcrowding. Giving her a supplemental silicon additive with help her stay healthy while minimizing the stress from her trim. Also give her 1 drop of superthrive for each gallon of water when changing nutrients. Hope this helps...K_K
