pH & PPM/TDS/EC ?

Hey all,I'm using using the system shown here http://www.geocities.com/~friskyfreddy/bigplanthydro.html 4"RW,50/50 mix perl/verm,w/lava & grow rocks, for the medium. My pH Q is this, once the roots are out of the 4" cubes do I need to change the pH of my res.? I've got it at 5.6 now for Rockwool. Should I bump it up to 6.1 pH ?.................................. Also I have a "nutra-dip cms 202 series TDS meter"continuous monitoring system. I'm not sure if I've been reading it corectly, now that I just picked up some TDS buffer 1000 PPMs calibration fluid. I put the probe in some and it read out at (084). The bottle says to adjust to 1000 PPM .,I tried setting it and was only able to get to (324). I set it at (100). Should I have been adding a zero to the read outs all along ? So when I thought I was at 96 PPMs I was really at 960 PPMs. Do I need to change my res again ? PPM-now at 99 or 990. On 5th node with lots of new growth branching off from them. No obvious signs of overfert, unless you count curling over along edges of "teeth" of some fan leaves,(which are darker green than new growth). I don't want to stress them out by changing the res too often. Any info/advise on these Qs would be a big help. Thanks in advance, ...PEACE...

Bump the pH for sure, the rest should be an instructional manual somewhere...now if you could only...remember what I was...doing...oh yeah, I was rolling a joint...
