Steamer? [Post#: 63397 / re: 62875 ]

Can I use a steamer for cooking my butter instead of a double boiler? Whta is the best amount of time that the butter should be cooked? I see so many different amount of times, I used to cook it for a full day, adding more water as needed. Does anyone do this anymore? Thanks, Peace

a veggie steamer??... how exactly would that work?? however, if you do not have a double broiler, you can concoct one yourself. all you need is two saucepans--one slightly smaller than the other. fill the larger pot 1/8 or so up with water, let water boil. then, just put smaller pan w/ butter makings inside lrgr one.

Basically the steamer works as a double boiler. It slow cooks everything using steam. It seems to work ok. Do you know how long to cook it?

I've never tried the steamer method, but for my buzzin' butter recipe, I recommend 5 hrs. Perhaps you'd need a little longer with steaming.

Happy "baking"
