Friday's chillin' chilie... [Post#: 63513 / re: 62875 ]

Hi ya'll...sorry you haven't seen much of me on the forum lately, busy busy busy...

K, here's a recipe for vegetarian pot chilie, hope you like it.

1 oz. leaf or 1/2 oz. bud - ground and browned**
1 19 oz. can kidney beans (or you can soak your own)
1 29 oz. can tomatoes (or you can peel your own)
1 green pepper, cubed
1 onion, cubed
about 10 button mushrooms, sliced

chilie powder, lemon pepper, salt/pepper, , basil, oregano, (all to taste), 2-3 cloves crushed garlic, and apple cider vinegar (1-2 tbsp.), honey (1-2 tbsp.)

First, brown your cannabis in a little oil**,
then add onions, green peppers and mushrooms: fry until soft

Add all other ingredience and simmer for one hour or so on low.

* you can add ground beef to this if you want meat in there, or you can use that meat substitue (just like ground), or crumbled tofu.

Enjoy!

I use mushrooms in my chili too. It really surprises some people , but they taste fantastic. Try adding some beer and a pinch of ground cumin.

Cumin, I have tried and it can be a wonderful spice to add to many mexican dishes. Beer - well, I don't like to consume alcohol in any amount, but I'm sure it makes for an interesting flavor.

Thanks for your input.

I don't drink beer, but it adds a unique flavor to many dishes I like to cook. Use darker beers or specialty brews and all of the alcohol cooks off.
