funny sad story [Post#: 63653 / re: 62875 ]

i had my own *little* pot farm for a while...for a laugh, i put 3 bag seeds in soil and to my surprise they all shot up in a few days...they grew strong and fast

i was going away for two weeks and could not tend to my babies so i took two clones off each plant and chopped down the parents...i hardened off the clones over a couple weeks and then put them in a box in the closet for my two week vacation...all the clones survived two weeks total darkness

i still didn't know the sex of the plants so i had to keep all six clones...after forcing flowering response, all six clones turned out female! o joy!!

about two weeks prior to maturity, my landlord called and announced there would be an inspection...i had to chop the plants early but still got about three ounces of good bud and a fair amount of leaves (100% organic fertilized using zoo poo, worm castings, forest humus, bat guano and kelp)

i put all of my harvest into one pot with a litre of organic cream (10%MF) and made a 40oz bottle of pot B52 flavoured liqueur...one ounce of this liqueur got me stoned...two ounces was enough to knock me out for the night

i guess the bottle was a little slippery from the cream spilled down the side or something because my wife was moving stuff around in the frig when she lost her grip and 4 months of work exploded on the floor...i only drank about 5 ounces of the stuff before it blew

WAH!

oh yeah, one more thing...you have got to try this new meat replacement...it tastes fantastic:

Much empathy to you about the lost efforts... but excellent idea on infusing the cream and making a high powered drink. Better luck in future projects...

hey baker!

i used to get most of my highs from eating pot until i started making this potent drink...i had lots of success growing and baking and "brewing" in the past but i had to give up growing when my kids were born...now that i don't have a supply of home groan i can't bring myself to put $500 worth of pot into a single bottle

the infused cream is from a tea recipie in tom flowers book (cooking with cannabis?)...to that i add sugar, liqueur flavour, and vodka...i have made this concoction many times and i find that:

- its easier than making cannabutter
- it stores for a long time (next time it will be stored in plastic)
- the effect comes on quicker
- less fattening

hi skellington

i'm an asthmatic and have been looking for a good alternative to smoking for years. i've smoked for 20yrs. all the ways of eating pot i've tried are less efficient than smoking - nice stone (clearer head) but you need lots more herb than a water bong for a similar hit and it deals to the stash faster. i'm not much of a cook, i've never tried baking myself but have tried others efforts on many occasions and know more or less the quantity of pot involved in cookies or cake.

i'd like to get your recipe especially for the infused cream bit. i have some buds coming through and would like to give it a try. i haven't heard of tom flowers. live outside US if that makes a difference.

hope you have time to reply - much appreciated.

hiya billy...i live outside the US too...it makes a huge difference!!

- bring 1 litre of cream (10%MF or higher) to a slow boil
- add 1 - 2 ounces of flowers (you can use leaves at 4X the amount but i think the buds have a better ratio of cannibinoids)
- simmer for 30 - 40 minutes and stir frequently (add a cup of milk if its too thick)
- strain into a bowl and squish the living shit out of the green glop and ditch it
- funnel 1.5 cups sugar into an empty 40 oz bottle
- add liqueur flavour*
- funnel infused cream into bottle
- top up with vodka

* you can buy liqueur flavouring at a u-brew or wine-making shop....if you are european, NOIROT is a french brand of high quality flavourings...chocolate and mint make a good companion to the taste of pot...you can also experiment with making your own flavour using vanilla extract and peppermint oil and cocoa powder (shake well before each use)

i used to make this alot...i bought special bottles and made christmas gifts with it one year...medical user who have tried this tell me that its preferable to eating butter...one or two ounces on an empty stomach will make you forget all about smoking a lung collapsing joint

i know an asmatic who has trouble with pot smoking too...you might also consider trying a vapourizer...try before you buy!! vapourizers make me cough more than joints.

Hi Skellington,
Sorry to hear about the mishap with your bottle of liqueur.I can understand why you would want to avoid glass for that reason, but it's the way to go for storing your spirits.
Storing in a plastic container may seem like a good alternative, but it will quickly ruin the flavor of your liqueur.Perhaps a better way of avoiding another accident of this proportion would be to simply bottle it in a number of smaller bottles.Simply a thought.
Thanks for posting your recipe though, sounds pretty darn tasty. I'll have to try and make it sometime.Have you ever tried your liqueur in coffee?
How was it?

Re: funny sad story new [Post#: 63662 / re: 63661 ]

Hullo RC

AIGH!! now i have plastic paranoia!

how will plastic ruin the taste of liqueur? alcoholic coolers and cheap hard liquor are sold in plastic....and some sodas contain phosphoric acid and malic acid...i don't mind a little corruption of taste but i would be concerned if i was somehow ingesting plastic molecules.

the first time i made this drink, i prepared it as 2 litres of tea made with milk and steeped with 6 mint tea bags as per the recipie in Tom Flowers book...it was very potent and i had to give away half of the mix because it would spoil before i could finish it

thats when i got the idea to add alcohol and make the tea into a liqueur....i added alcohol, sugar, vanilla extract, and several tablespoons of instant coffee to make kaluha (2 x 26 oz bottles)...it was very tasty in my coffee and as an after dinner drink...but i figgered pot doesn't mix with caffeine at night so i ditched the coffee and went for a mint-chocolate flavour (which is no longer manufactured by NOIROT)

i often had a shot in my morning coffee but it sometimes left me dragged out by noon...so i pulled back to a "homeopathic" dose of just a half oz or less in my coffee which produced a very pleasant long lasting light buzz that didn't interfere with work and kept me feeling grand until lunch

i have enough shake left over to make another bottle but it isn't the same thing...to my way of thinking, shake gets you stoned and sleepy but it is missing some of the joy...it probably differs among strains and growers but my limited experience with shake is that it isn't the same high as the buds

how about it? do leaves provide the same edible high as flowers?

Re: funny sad story new [Post#: 63667 / re: 63662 ]

Skellington,
It's not so much scientific data as it is an observation that I've made.I find that liquids stored in plastic for any length of time tend to take on the flavor of the container. Can't really comment on the ingestion of plastic molecules,as I am not certain.Taste is just really important to me.
Actually....you have me wondering now as well.
Thanks again for the recipe and info,I am really anxious to try it out.
Regarding your question...I have found that good quality bud trimmings make some very potent edibles indeed. In fact,I will probably use it to make this recipe when I get around to making it.
Cheers!

Re: funny sad story new [Post#: 63668 / re: 63662 ]

Thanks for the recipe skellington.

I'll make up a test batch to start with.

Most of what I've eaten has been cake or cookies using leaf rather than coughing on it by smoking. You need to use a lot more than bud but it is a good way to use the stuff up.

Cheers.
