I was going to make hash oil again, but wondered if anyone could help me out with a couple things. I use everclear or rubbing alcohol, and up until now I have used an electric stove to evaporate the alcohol and then the oven to evaporate remaining water. Is it safe to use a propane fueled range for this? Also, I have heard that the rubbing alcohol dissolves the chlorophyl too. Is this true with everclear too, and does the alcohol make it black in color? If anyone has a method that works better, let me know.

Acetone is a better THC solvent than alcohol and there is no water residue. Making it in a Mason jar, you can use one of those electric coffee cup warmers to slowly evaporate the acetone. Hope this helps. It turns a dark green, but not black.

I am a certified gourmet chef, and i specialize in sauces.
in years of working with reductions, liasons, aromatic oils of all types, and seeing unbelievable
crappy attempts, i studied the ingerdients, and can produce xxxxquality honey
in about five minutes.
instead of extracting everything from the leaf and attempting to
isolate the gold, i do a quick wash with 99% iso.
take 2-3 grams ove dry crystal bud, add 2oz iso, and shake well( i use french jelly glass with lid)
pour the iso into a mic safe shallow dish 6"x4", 1/2 inch deep. straining through a coffee filter.
put the soggy budds into the mc for about 12 seconds and add to the other extract.
mic for no more than 30 seconds, checking often. as soon as you see the bottem of the
pan, add drops of iso. most peaple burn or carbonizeit to a mess.
the porceline dish will have residual heat and will evaperate the iso. as soon as you see dark, carboniizing
add a feww more drops of iso. this slow evaperation will not take long, 3 minutes, while you take
and old credit card
slowleycreate the honey like texture.
theres more goodies in the washed buds, for lesser quality.
hashoil is as simple as heating, crumbling and dissolve in iso, ect..
save yor extacted powders and buds, becuase sometimes they retaine something for a later wash.
novice, battling harsh, cold weather and short season. may-september.

I also use grain alcohol to make hash. I soak the my trim for about 1 hour in atleast 1 gallon of everclear or equivelant in a large rectangular glass baking dish. then I remove the leaf, squeezing it dry so that the excess runs back in the dish. then I strain the tincture through a wire mesh sieve to remove the remaining particles. return it back to the original dish and put a fan next to the it so air blows across it. within 24 hours there should be zero moisture, get a razorblade and start scraping!!!

Imade some of this honey oil, (I think). I messed up and used 70% iso. It took overnight to evaporiate the water that got left behind. I ened up with a very dark brown/green past. Is that what I want. Or did I really mess up bad and waited all of my budd? I have to work today or I would try it. :)

I found a ten dollar electric pot at wallmart that will boil water. This should be all I need I think. I use 91% rubbing alcohol; but I will have to evaporate the water somehow. Does anyone know where to find 100 percent denatured alcohol, this would fix future problems of getting rid of the water.

Powerpuffgirl, Is this correct? I Put 3grams of bud into the 2oz of 99%ISO, shake it up real good. Strain the entire thing through a coffee filter, Put just the soggy budds into the Mic. for 12sec. Remove the budd. Add the filtered ISO to the budds again. Mic it for another 30 Sec. Add a few drops of ISO when I see bottem of the pan, mix it in. Remove it from the Mic, let stand untill the ISO evaporizes. I used a razor blade to scrap the dark green gooy mess into a ball. I guess thats it as I understand.

If you are using isopropyl alcohol or acetone you will never get honey oil (Acetone does not make better oil than isopropyl alcohol.Similar). It will be very dark, it can also be very potent, however. Let the shake or bud sit in the isopropyl alcohol over night. Strain it threw a coffee filter. Throw out the now useless shake and evaporate the isopropyl very slowly. You are left with dark hash oil. Make sure to use 99% pure isopropyl, none of that 70% rubbing alcohol crap. This method works out well, but the oil will not come out clear. Honey oil is made with butane.

Yes, however, the butane extraction method is very different from the alcohol type methods. Somewhere in this forum the butane method is explained with pictures. Butane is also much more dangerous to work with. I still have never tried using butane, because the dark oil I get with isopropyl alcohol is potent enough and I don't feel like blowing myself up.

Blowing myself up wouldn't be the first time. Hee. I was a combat engineer for the USMC. Moondog told me how to do it with butane. I'll try it. It just costs more then ISO to do.

RUBBING ALCOHOL WILL MAKE IT TASTE LIKE SHIT SMELLS!!!! Use ony isopropyl alcohol. If you can use printers alchol (99.9 percent.) stay completly away from wood alcohol. Because it can make you go BLIND. All most any alcohol from the drug store or pharmacy will contain a type of perfume base thats not very tastey(yucky.) In regards to using a propane heater. This is a very bad idea! If theres any open flame BOOM( i know it exploded on me befor)
use a hot plate out side (if you know what your doing use a pressure cooker), and try not to use aluminum. Keep in mind that your using solvents that are extracting. I've heard that aluminum is somehow linked to Alzheimers.
I use pyrex glass cookware, and oh by the way printers alcohol cost about 54 bucks a gallon but with all the meth heads making there shit its made buying chemicals a bitch everyone that goes to purchase it will get the 3rd degree happy syenthasizing

sorry bud but honey oil is obtained best from extracting your crude through a klasken flask with a small hand full of tripple ot steelwool use about 1oz of petrolium eather THIS MY FRIEND IS THE TICKET THE LAST FAZE IS CREATING DELTA 9 (crystal thc)
remember pet either boils at 32 degrees farenhight when its exposed to air where did you come up with the butain part??????? butain when burned becomes fozgene gas. which is part of mustard gas do you remember ww1 or ww2 ? the stuff really hurt alot of our boys in the armed forces

Yea, I just call it all rubbing alcohol. I meant either 70 percent isopropyl alcohol or higher. It should be clear, not that green scented stuff. Also, there was ethyl rubbing alcohol there. This shouldn't be used also, because I think they add something nasty to discourage drinking. Does it really matter how long you heat it? I just get the water boiling and it evaporates rather quickly. I only use about a couple ounces of alcohol at a time too, so it takes maybe 5 or ten minutes. After that, it is still a little bit watery...so I let it sit out and it dries up after a couple days.
