Re: 4 leaf clover syndrome !! new [Post#: 113248 / re: 112945 ]

hey, johnnyA.,the stems of the leaves are perfectly spaced. Nodes seem to do a quarter turn with each set instead of the usual half turn alternation. My other plants, I noticed tonight ,are starting their first branching off growth ,on either side of each leaf stem at each node. When this one gets to that stage, I may need a bigger light(lol). >>>...PEACE...<<<

Hi Hydrohippy, can you get hold of a digital camera? I'd love to see some pictures of your baby.

Alass,I am a lowley webtv user and don't think there's anyway for me to post a pic. Webtv can be used to do a video capture from a tape or videocamera feed, but I own neither the video cam,or a digital camera.

i have a little kush that is around node 15 or 16 and every set of leaves has only 3 blades. one medium sized middle blade and one very small blade on each side. in every other aspect the plant is perfectly normal!

sb5,15/16 nodes, cool,How old are they ? You know how at each node you have pairs of leaves branching off of the main stalk in alternating right angels at each node.?,Well this one plant I've got going has sets of three at 120* angels.
(in a equal < ,"Y" type Formation ) at each node.
The no# of blades each sucessive node is the normal (1,3,5,7,9,etc) pattern, except it's got an extra branch at each node . If I'm LUCKY,EXTRA BUDS too.!!

1 1/2 months old, 3 inches vertical, 11 inches horizontal with the whole clump of 15 or 16 nodes in around a 2 1/2-3" tall area at the very tip of the 9 inch stalk! it was transplanted "ontop" of a rock, draping the roots all around the rock, exposed roots covered with dirt. gradually over a week or so, at every watering some of the dirt was swept off the roots. now, around a week after the transplant its roots have taken hold and ran in the new container. the plant looks like its growing on a quartz rock. pretty neat looking.

the reasoned i used it for a bonsai is BECAUSE of the three leave syndrom!

its under 240w floro and always kept UP TIGHT to the bulb which compacts the nodes. ill try to get a digital picture of it and post, within the next few days.

Re: 4 leaf clover syndrome: final note new [Post#: 117034 / re: 112753 ]

just a little update...this plant has reverted back to new growth in pairs. Upto the five bladed leaves, all in sets of 3,what would be seven bladed leaves coming in pairs now. Can't tell yet,if there are 7 or only 3 blades on new growth. It's also no where near as full as the genetic strains I have growing, and seems to show more of a sativa node spacing. The other 2 from same bag are less full and a bit stretched in comparison(males?) Maybe this growth in 3s in early stages is common to females of that hybrid. It would be interesting to inbreed these plants and see if trait continues.
