I won't get on the organic/non-organic bandwagon here, but my thing is all about control. Only a neutral or mostly neutral soil mix and ferts added with water will allow me to control the salts and nutes the plants get. I have used organics in the soil in the past, but found that control of nutes was much harder. Locally, we've lost our growshop, so the garden centres are slowly stocking the less traditional gardening supplies for MJ production, but not everything is available. Its a case of use what is available.

I wasn't really trying to dispute chem and organic, I just wanted to state that organics are generally more forgiving IMO. Sorry for any confusion!
