Newbie has some odd questions [Post#: 121070 ]

Hello All,

Well, I will level with you, I am new to all things relating to growing all this Cannabis. I have a few questions and would like thank every one who may respond in advance.

1. I have often heard of low grade marihuana referred to as swag/schwag etc. What is it exactly, a lower strain of herb, poorly grown pot, is it the stems, leaves and other by products of bud producing plants.

2. What is Kain bud (sorry for the spelling) I know that it is high grade pot, but is it just a generic name for it, or does it refer to certain strains and what makes it such.

Thanks again and you will make some stoners very happy with this information.

Howdy.

I'm not the best grower in the world, but I'll take a stab at it.

I think to answer best, I should address your second Q first:

I believe you are referring to Kind Bud, which is the flowering tops from non-seeded female plants (sensemilia).
This should contain no stems or seeds or leaves, just the buds, which is where all the best smoke is. It can be more expensive, but IMO, totally worth it.

so bearing that in mind, schwag is the 'shake' or the less than awesome leftovers after removing the buds from your harvest. Typically there is much less THC, so it makes a worse smoke. About the only good thing I have to say about schwag is: free seeds!

I'm sure others will correct me in the minutiae, but that's the gist of it.

Thats pretty much right, but I cant resist nitpicking a little :). "Kind" "Dank" or "Chronic" are adjectives used to describe top-grade herb. This herb may or may not have seeds in it. I have had plenty of lightly seeded, excellent stuff.
"Schwag" is generally (in my experience) used to describe commercial imports. These are indeed lower in potency, partially because of genetics but also because the herb is poorly handled:huge plots are planted and allowed to go to seed. Harvest time comes and the plants are chopped and stacked, often in the sun. The plants ferment and often develop mold and other maladies (all of these conditions reduce potency). Once the plants are sort of dry, they are compacted (often w/trash compactors), packed and sent to eager American kids.Peace.

I agree with you both..the shwag..I totally agree with what you said about that..made for quantity and properly cared for. Let the females and males flower togetehr never takin the males out..just poor grade ..I think most of it comes from Mexico, but I'm sure you can find some shwag anywhere.
