After reviewing toxicology reports, the St. Joseph County prosecutor's office filed new charges against 18-year-old Brian Feely, the driver accused of killing two Granger teens on a moped.

Police say Feely crashed head-on into a moped killing Ryan Morris and Clarke Goerke.

The recently released toxicology reports show police found marijuana in 18-year old Brian Feely's blood but since the drug can stay in your system for weeks at a time, it is still unknown when Feely inhaled the drug.
Prosecutors say Feely is now charged with two felony counts of causing death of another person while operating a motor vehicle.

If convicted, Feely faces two to eight years behind bars and a $10,000 of both felony charges in the deaths of Morris and Goerke.

Dead teens had alcohol in systems
The toxicology tests also show that Morris and Goerke, the two teens that died in the crash, had alcohol in their system.

Police say 15-year-old Clarke Goerke's blood alcohol limit of. .23, which is almost three-times the legal limit of .08 for adults. Tests also show 14-year-old Ryan Morris' blood alcohol content was .02.

Both teens died on July 1 around 11 PM when police say Feely's pickup truck crossed the centerline on Anderson Road in St. Joseph County crashing into the moped carrying both Goerke and Morris.

St. Joseph County Prosecutor Michael Dvorak's office released a statement Monday says, “Due to the victim's families, who continue to suffer over the tragedies, the prosecutor's office won't comment any further on the case.”

Feely will be back in court Friday morning.

Read an earlier story that said blood tests also showed valium in addition to vicodin and marijuana in Feeley's blood.
The prosecutor does not care about valium and vicodin and apparently does not care about the impairment that those drugs cause.....he cares only about proving this kid smoked pot and getting a subsequent conviction.

Loretta, please allow me to compliment you on how well you looked on today's show.

I don't know if it's just me, but there seems to be more and more interest in the pot issue these days. I urge everyone to go to Yahoo news, and post comments on all the marijuana news stories that appear there.

One in particular showed up today, that exposes the US government's illegal refusal to fund studies concerning marijuana:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=541&e=7&u=/ap/medical_marijuana

And my favorite, from Canada:
Federal government committed to marijuana decriminalization: Martin
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/cpress/20040721/ca_pr_on_na/martin_marijuana_1

It may not be much, but every little bit helps.
