CTV News. Police say marijuana grow operation found at a former Molson brewery in Barrie, Ontario is the "largest and most sophisticated" in Canadian history. The plant, which is within view of busy Highway 400, held tens of thousands of marijuana plants with a street value of $30 million.

Newshawks: Children Siezed From Parents In Marijuana Raid
KSL News. West Valley Police have made one of the biggest pot- busts, in recent memory.
They found 70- pounds of marijuana, last night in a home, in West Valley ... being used as sort of a warehouse. 4 suspects were arrested, for selling to street dealers ... who, in turn ... sold to users.
The street value of the stuff is about 140- thousand dollars. 2- children were living in the home. They're now in protective custody.

Newshawks: Toronto Drug Cops Busted
Toronto drug cops charged in corruption probe
Five Toronto police officers and one retired officer have turned themselves in to face more than 20 criminal charges in a corruption investigation into the force's central drug squad.
The charges follow an RCMP-led probe into allegations the officers on the now-disbanded drug squad were beating and robbing suspects. The officers face charges ranging from conspiracy to obstruct justice, to extortion, perjury, theft over $5,000, and assault causing bodily harm.

CBC News. VANCOUVER - Sunday's raid on the legislature offices of two senior British Columbia cabinet ministers was linked to a 20-month organized crime drug investigation, the RCMP said Monday. Police believe that B.C.-grown marijuana was being exchanged for cocaine and sold to people across Canada. |
